I want to start building my own server which I will host game servers on. One issue, I have no idea what to get, where to start really. I was thinking about building a SCSI server (Server Tower Case) Scan.co.uk: SM-743T-R760-B - Supermicro SC743T-R760 4U/Tower Chassis - Black I was thinking about either getting SATA and setting them up on RAID, or getting SCSI HDD (But there god damn expensive) What do you guys recommend? I want to do web hosting / game server hosting so RAM and hard drive transfer speeds are really important. On that note, I was looking at this mobo; Supermicro X8DTH-6F With ECC Ram; 24GB Hynix Server Memory 1333MHz (x4?) Then Intel Xeon CPU's. So yeah, any knowledge, heads up etc would be really greatful! (Connections - renting space at BlueSquare in Maidenhead, I'll have the best connection possible, well, for UK) Edited May 10, 2011 by Tweezy Link to comment https://forums.steam-gamers.net/topic/42142-server-help/
