Epsilon Posted July 9, 2011 Content Count: 431 Joined: 03/25/11 Status: Offline Share Posted July 9, 2011 First off I know I probably should have made a ticket instead but I don't have all the info I need to properly describe my problem Recently I have been getting the BSOD and as you all know that is bad The problem is, according to the BSOD, "a clock interrupt was not received on a secondary processor" The first thing I did was a google search and found out this is common on certain mobo's (unsure of brand) running phenom processor (which of course mine is) some other information I gathered is it might be a hardware compatibility issue or motherboard issues but i don't really think it is any of the above due to having the computer for 1-2 years now and never had a BSOD before which leads to... and i really hope it isn't this one, my cpu or gpu is dying the problem has only occurred in-game so far and more specifically in GMOD PERP and I think CSS Any insight as to what the problem may be would be greatly appreciated (also please forgive any grammatical and spelling errors its 12 am where I am and I'm very tired) Link to comment

Tweezy Posted July 10, 2011 Content Count: 3791 Joined: 08/08/09 Status: Offline Share Posted July 10, 2011 This is a hardware issue, either your GPU or CPU is screwed. Some things you can try; Does your Motherboard have an internal Graphics? (Intergrated) If so, use your internal one to see if the issue stops, if it does then your GPU is screwed, if not then it's your CPU. Link to comment

How would I go about doing this btw my mobo is a "gateway rs780 [am2]" and my gfx card is a ATI Radeon HD 4600 series Link to comment

It is not necessarily a hardware issue. Do you have any of the AMD power management installed? If so, uninstall it. I would suggest replacing the processor and chipset drivers and possibly resetting the CMOS. I could only find drivers for Vista so I assume this system shipped with Vista, if you have Windows 7 the motherboard drivers will come from windows update and you will need to uninstall the drivers first. You will have to do this for the processor drivers anyway so let me know if you need help with this or resetting the CMOS. Vista Motherboard Chipset Driver Link to comment

Vista Motherboard Chipset Driver yeah some help would be appreciated I have never installed drivers for a processor or chipset resetting CMOS shouldn't be too hard since I have done this before Link to comment
