I assume you're using U.S. websites and the only reason that speedtest is great is because it's going off of a server fairly close to you. Try changing your Steam location to a close one. Also you usually don't get the best speed off of torrenting. I have a 512Kb DSL line and I barely ever hit 50kb/s on any downloads. Link to comment

Well he is getting 11 Mbit from Speedtest, which is about how much he is getting in uTorrent... Anyways, if you are paying for 100 Mbit, you're probably paying for "UP TO", which they will not give you that much speed. You should call them though and ask what's up; how displeased you are that you aren't getting the speeds you pay for. Link to comment
Tyrant Posted July 18, 2011 Content Count: 459 Joined: 07/20/08 Status: Offline Share Posted July 18, 2011 Is your modem and/or router old/obsolete? Is your modem Docsis 3.0? Is your network card capable of processing that speed? Do you use Cat 6 or Cat 6a cables from you modem to your computer? Have you tested for leaks or interference in your houses cable wiring (ISP does this)? Are all cable connections in your system firmly attached? Also, make sure that you are properly reading/listing which speeds are Megabits/sec and which are Megabytes/sec, this commonly messes people up. Link to comment

It's probably some sort of problem.....I have 30 mb but manage to get 3.5mb/s on torrents. Link to comment
