Lux Posted July 19, 2011 Content Count: 6712 Joined: 03/06/08 Status: Offline Share Posted July 19, 2011 and when I mean buttons....I'm talking about your average "browse" button i.e. the ones on image sites to select a picture or...I'm trying to add an mkv file to a converter...all these kinds of things have the same problem. Click the button....nothing happens except for a quick flash around the window. I've noticed recently that......when I go to My Computer on the start menu it says Computer (32-bit) strange considering that it didn't say this before....and my computer is 64 bit. Another problem is that on the drop down menu for folders so you can go to different file locations......there is nothing there! The drop down menu comes up.....but it's just blank. I have a feeling this is connected so........any fixes guys? Link to comment
Lux Posted July 19, 2011 Content Count: 6712 Joined: 03/06/08 Status: Offline Share Posted July 19, 2011 Also just to add........it may also be to do with another problem I've been having generally since I built this dam PC. Generally when I turn off my computer and there are updates......upon restart there is holy shit loads of blue screens and system repairs etc to be able to get it to work again......so generally I have to leave my computer on sleep. I can't figure out what is wrong....I built it with my friend and he's done it before....we even did it again from scratch after the error to see if we could fix it..........we assumed it may just be a graphics card problem as the card was a very new model....but that was last November and it still happens so :/.... Anyway this blue screeny shit happened yesterday and since then it's been doing the above. Link to comment

Tyrant Posted July 20, 2011 Content Count: 459 Joined: 07/20/08 Status: Offline Share Posted July 20, 2011 I agree with Daze. To me this sounds like the OS is falling apart at the seams and the likely culprits would be a bootlegged OS or some kind of nasty infection. If it is a bootlegged OS then I would say it's possibly some problem related to a "genuine copy" check. It's also possible that, whether bootleg or genuine, your computer is for some reason requesting/downloading/applying the wrong updates (for 32 not your 64) or something along those lines. The other, and most unfortunate, option is that possibly your system was buggered from the get-go and you may have to start from scratch all over again to remedy the problem, but I hope that's not the case. Keep us posted. Link to comment

I really have shit luck with updating..... but my friend used the same thing for his computer and it's fine :/ I guess I will see what he thinks......was hoping it was just some random error I could fix with command/download. That or, I might just try and live without the browse button and such related stuff :/ Link to comment

It would be quite ironic if I finished the Zenos course and still had no clue how to fix this.......but honestly starting this computer from scratch is something I want to avoid. Link to comment

Are you able to get updates? If not, I have a loader, I'm on SP1 with no trouble. With some proper updates it might fix your issue. Other then that I really have no idea how to help you.
