I've had RaidMax/CoolerMaster PSU's before and they are fine as well. The hype surrounding PSU's is dumb. Just so long as you don't buy any cheap $20 1000W psu's you're fine. Also that PSU isn't modular. Modular PSU's are amazing and I recommend them. Link to comment

You might not need 650w> if you aren't running high on your gpu which tends to be the most power consuming part. Link to comment
Chaoz` Posted August 4, 2011 Content Count: 1740 Joined: 04/04/10 Status: Offline Share Posted August 4, 2011 Corsair are really good PSU's, but i prefer be! Quiet, i've recently bought a 1000W modular PSU and i must say, i don't want anything else, even tho i don't need a 1000W. I might need it in the future when i upgrade, they're really quiet and have loads of cables for enough HDD's and what not. i recommend you don't hold back on the price. Although some Corsair PSU's are shit you should stick with the HX series, they cost a bit more but have better efficiency. Link to comment
Shadowex3 Posted August 8, 2011 Content Count: 2959 Joined: 02/27/08 Status: Offline Share Posted August 8, 2011 (edited) Antec USED to be good when Seasonic was actually making their power supplies and antec just stuck a sticker on them but they're crap now. Stick with Seasonic, PC Power & Cooling and Corsair and anything with either an 80plus certification or, and this is a special exactly-this-unit-only exemption, if one particular model was tested and found to be good by Jonnyguru then it's trustworthy. Unless you're making a multi-gpu machine (SLI or Xfire) then you can easily get away with a 650-750w psu being overkill. Also help deciphering cosrair model names: HX will be modular, TX is fixed, and AX/CX are new lines I'm not familiar with yet. Edited August 8, 2011 by Shadowex3 Link to comment
