They also vary in price which sucks. Link to comment

Also, I imagine that the older model in question is used and personally I wouldn't buy a used PS3/360 due to lack of warranty/higher chance of hardware failure. Link to comment
Golden Shower Posted September 24, 2011 Content Count: 269 Joined: 04/11/11 Status: Offline Share Posted September 24, 2011 Well, my father uses a PS3, as does my Uncle, both have the slimmer models. There is more bang for the buck, so to speak. Elf, you hit another right on the head. While more expensive, the slimmer versions do run at a cooler temperature, and do have a better HDD. My father accidentally leaves it on for a day or two, and it still runs fine, so hardware isn't too much of an issue. Anyway, hope that helped. Link to comment

If the old one is the fat one, then it can't play PS2 games, at least not the one I had.. Dunno if I had a weird version though, but we tried a lot of times. Link to comment

It honestly doesn't matter which one you chose, they both do the same thing. I have a fat PS3 and I love it. Link to comment

I got mine for a good price. USED and it runs strong and plays old game. Really the main thing I like about the new one is that it runs cooler. and also less of a finger print magnet Link to comment
