TheMxPenguin Posted September 26, 2011 Content Count: 228 Joined: 08/25/10 Status: Offline Share Posted September 26, 2011 so ive heard people say to build a computer and some say you rly dont save much. anyway how much money would i save on a computer that has the power to lets say... run bf3 pretty smooth if i bought a pre build like a dell or built one. also how hard is to build a pc (im pretty hand with my dirt bike engine so would the skills carry over) and could i find i video to walk me though building properly (i know this might kind of go under to build a rig but im not sure) Link to comment

And yes, building it is much more affordable and you really know exactly what is going into your machine. If you don't think you can personally build it, you can always hire someone locally to build it for you, shouldn't cost too much. You just need to research each and every part you want. That would be a mid-top of line PC. But if you shop around, you could probably go further than that and get some extras like an SSD drive or maybe cooling. Link to comment
jazzy Posted September 26, 2011 Content Count: 2187 Joined: 06/28/09 Status: Offline Share Posted September 26, 2011 we can't give you a suggestion on the cost of a BF3 computer due to optimization issues, the game could come out with poor optimization resulting in only proper performance from tri-sli on $300 gpus so it's hard to say, but giving a wild guess i'd say it would be around $700 to build a computer that's going to last you atleast 2 years out on the market running top settings (or atleast high) on most games, console ports you'd probably be able to keep playing 3-4 years down the line. building any computer for around $700 should let you be set for a minimum of 2 years even if new consoles came out.
