Penguin, I recommend using that pre-built as a model for building your own, look at each individual piece and look up on newegg, ebay, tigerdirect, and such. See if you can do better and upgrade a lot of those things. And do you really need a monitor?

Newegg.com - Once You Know, You Newegg

Here is a which list I just quickly made.

What you'll notice is that yes you are still missing an OS but easily pirated or bought which ever

But what is guaranteed is that everything on this list is quality as opposed to what you would get in the dell.

The mobo is quality and wont have a shitty limited BIOS.

The PSU is quality

All in all I wouldnt say building saves you money but its for sure the way to go because you know what you pay for and what that goes in your PC.

A simple way to put it since you work on your bike. I do my own oil, breaks, plugs, tire rotation on my A4 (she is my baby) If you look at the work it all takes its easier and fairly cheap to have it done I dont save money BUT I choose the oil I want I KNOW for sure its done well and that the filter was changed (cause sometimes car shops dont change the filter even tho they charge for it) I like doing to work cause I know whats material is used and its done well.

Same with a PC. I could prolly rebuild that list for a lot cheaper using really shitty components.. what dell does.. If you have questions about building plenty of people here to help and we used to have nice links in a sticky about that

Also AMD is usually a cheaper option look at some peoples wish list one newegg to give you and isea of what you want

i like what your saying and if i was going to build i have a pretty basic outline of what i want to do, what ive been doing for my idea of building is using ibuypower.com to pick out the parts because it has a nice layout and then i copy and paste that list on newegg cuz newegg is cheap.

price on ibuypower.com $1415 (i bit more then i would like to pay but am still willing, list is a little long)

too lazy to actually go through and check stuff but everything there seems ok

I noticed you had liquid cooling up there somewhere not sure if you are doing that or using standard heatsink/fan combo

either will be fine but make sure with liquid cooling everything is set up fine... you don't want to start up a nice rig like that and have to replace every part because a little bit of water got out (an old saying "a pinch of precaution now can save you a bunch of frustration later" or something like that)

But otherwise it looks fine

And YouTube usually has some decent tutorials out there for you when building a rig or even just looking up basic information on components might be worth some time to go check them out before starting

Anyway good luck
