I'll post a reply later today, i'll get u a comp that can BF3 easy, I'm not gonna say the price atm, but it will be a lot less then $1.4k... That was overkill. I'm building a computer around the same specs atm, it'll cost me around £500 ($800~).

Building a computer is like advanced lego... The hard bit is realising why it doesn't work!!!

never ever, EVER! buy a desktop. build one and you get it for less with exactly what you want, none of the proprietary bullshit and wont get fucked over by things like lack of OCing ability. You get waht you want, nothing more and nothing less and have a PC that will prably last longer.

My PC cost less than 1.4k (built it myself) and it can run BF3 on max settings. If you want I can give you full specs.

The current beta doesn't include "max settings". Most of the higher-end options don't change anything, you can try it out yourself.

It looks beautiful now can't imagine what it it'd be on max. Annnnd to the OP never ever buy Dell they use sub standard parts (I am a victim). I'll post a link that Jazzy gave me that complies everything you need to buuild a comp and the cheapest price for each part on whichever website for you.

Heh, you guys also answered some questions that I had, I'm looking to build one myself once I move out.

Thank you.

Also, yeah, building your own is much cheaper, plus, you'll learn what is where, have a price range for the part, and know how to replace it if a part fries.

Choose A System To Build - PCPartPicker

yeah, i gave this to harp and believe me, this is the easiest way and cheapest to make a PC, i would personally wait until bulldozer is out even though i know they are going to flop, but just in case i'd wait. the pc part picker is very nice and aggregates deals from across multiple pc seller sites like newegg, amazon, tigerdirect, etc. it's more accurate than human on these guided parts because a person also looks over them, you can also edit individual options.

also i'd like to mention anyone getting a HDD, get the seagate hybrid Newegg.com - Seagate Momentus XT ST95005620AS 500GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache 2.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s with NCQ Solid State Hybrid Drive -Bare Drive

it's an INCREDIBLY good buy, use it as your main windows/steam drive and games will run amazingly, then just buy 1-2tb of storage drivers. believe me, this thing is faster than $300 10krpm velociraptors and a tad bit slower than most entry level SSDs, it's also about .30 cents/gb
