anyone have a good recommendation for a headset for gaming, videos, etc.

I'd like to see a good headset overall and a good one for the price for comparison.

Ex:

Logitech faggots ($135) best headset overall

Fatality blacks ($40) best headset for its price

Sennheiser USA -PC Headset - Skype, VoIP - Professional Gamer Headset - PC 360 - Personal Audio if you want the best you have to go Sennheiser. I must warn you, however, that if you test a pair of sennheisers you will spoil your ears forever. It that pair is too rich for your budget Sennheiser USA - Gamer Headset - USB for PC - Skype,VoIP - Personal Audio. Sennheiser makes world-class headphones and microphones so you cant beat them.

p.s. if you don't need a mic then that's a whole new ball game

sony has a headset with big fat cushions. It sounds great but the cord is short.

I still think sennheiser is great for what you wanna do HD555 is good if you have cash get a higher model

Me I would go with the Razer Megalodon

Razer Megalodon - Gaming Headset | Razer Online Store

Dont even come here and mention razer as a potential option.. razer is shit!

So is steelseries by the way... in fact anything gaming branded is crap.. but if you still want something gaming get logitech

I should mention that I already have a Logitech G35 headset which has been giving me problems since day of purchase. Like having to disable then renable audio and microphone randomly just to hear or speak, falls off when I tip my head forward slightly, doesnt work with sven coop, and the fucking cord which must be related to satan gets tangled in a shitstorm every other day.

Thank you all for your suggestions, although I should have clarified the price range a little more. I obviously cannot afford a $300-$200 headset, with $120 being max price.

I have been looking at steel series a lot, my friend has one and says hes had it for almost two years with no problems but if there are any other suggestions I would greatly appreciate it.

I've had my SteelSeries for a little year now without any problems, and IMO the sound is good for the price, whether it is gaming or music. Dunno about the mic though, haven't really used it a lot, but I've been told it sounds fine the few times I've actually used it. Just whatever you do, don't get a Creative Fatal1ty, they're really shit..

Edit: Don't know if it needs to be mentioned, but I've got the Siberia v2 with an USB thing thing from them.

Sennheiser USA - PC Headset - Gaming Headset - PC 161 - Skype, VoIP - Personal Audio thats within your price range. however Amazon.com: PC 330 GAME Headset: Electronics is also in your price range on amazon. Amazon always has headphones much cheaper than listed.

other than that there is http://us.akg.com/akg-product-detail-us/ghs-1.html. i cant vouch for that model but overall AKG is a well respected brand and once again they also make professional mic/headphones.

p.s. Logitech headphones are shit. i have had 4 sets and all of them failed in under a year and sounded like shit right off the bat.

one last thought for my 2 cents is that if you dont need a mic these http://www.gradolabs.com/page_headphones.php?item=ec27f1750be96023333af0dfe546af44 are by far the best headphones you can get for your price range. They are what I use and I absolutely assure you they are the best sub-$200 headphones you will ever use. Hell they keep up with the $350 sennheisers from the early 2000s.
