Lux Posted October 27, 2011 Content Count: 6712 Joined: 03/06/08 Status: Offline Share Posted October 27, 2011 I have had my current speakers/subwoofer for maybe 7-8 years now. I still think they are fine despite being quite small....but the subwoofer is buzzing whenever it is turned on and it's really annoying...... Price wise I'm looking to spend up to £60/$95, this speaker set I had cost me £20 and came with a mic so I don't think I need to spend insane amounts. One thing I would like is a set with two ports....as I want to plug one into the PC and one into the screen (for my PS3).....really annoying having to switch it every time. Thanks Link to comment
Dirk Posted October 31, 2011 Content Count: 2167 Joined: 07/14/10 Status: Offline Share Posted October 31, 2011 (edited) damn. speakers are quite possible the hardest thing in the world to shop for. I recommend hearing anything you plan on buying in person first as so much of it is subjective. Speakers are also the only thing I know of that can range in price from $30 to $100,000. I personalty would recommend finding a cheap as hell 90s stereo receiver and used speakers to do this if you are using it for multiple things and presumably you like the ability to have insane power output. Thats what I did. However, I recognize that thats probably not what you had in mind. The only other thing I can say is that Amazon is your friend when it comes to audio, used receivers (that work) are kick ass, and research audio stuff on audio sites not PC sites if you want the best sound quality. sorry im not much help here but I only have experience with complete shit speakers and high end speakers (none of that middle ground). Your best bet is probably to find a place where you can listen to a bunch of them back to back and let your ears decide. for the sake of not wasting your time http://www.bose.com/controller?url=/shop_online/digital_music_systems/computer_speakers/companion_2/index.jsp I have used the older version of this and they work quite well. they also have the dual inputs you wanted. 1 Edited October 31, 2011 by Dirk Link to comment
Zeke Posted November 1, 2011 Content Count: 716 Joined: 08/04/11 Status: Offline Share Posted November 1, 2011 Polk Audio makes some damn good speakers, though probably not in your price range. Bose is way overpriced and not as great as it's praised. If you want a dirt cheap sound system in that range that works with a PC and your PS3, look at what Logitech has to offer. 1 Link to comment
