So I have a extra blu ray player and I thought hell why not just put it on my computer. I have HDMI cables on my computer and the back of my Moniter but nothing seems to work when I hook it up. So is it possible to hook up a blu ray player to a computer/moniter and it work? Or is this something you can not do.

It simply wont work the way your doing it. the HDMI on your laptop in for output. not input. If you want to play blue rays on your laptop you will need a USB combatible blue ray drive, like this Newegg.com - ASUS USB 2.0 6x External Slim Blu Ray Combo with BDXL Support Model SBC-06D2X-U/BLK/G/AS

I'm pretty sure what he means is plugging the Bluray player into the back of his monitor, which, is 100% possible to do. I do it with my xbox 360 whenever I feel like playing it.

That's because the HDMI on the monitor is for input, the HDMI for laptop is for output, and the HDMI for blu-ray is output. Output into output (obviously) doesn't work, but output into input does.

Of course if you REALY want to get this to work but cant be bothered to buy a blu-ray drive for you PC you could plug it into a capture card. Of course those cost more than a BD drive.

I doubt you can use a blu ray player with your computer. Plugging the player to the monitor with HDMI should work as long as your monitor is full HD. You could also buy a blu ray drive to your computer.

You don't necessarily need a fullHD monitor, in order to hook up a blu ray player.
