PHP is the king of ugly code. Java isn't too bad, and C is clearly sexy.

 

But I'd say C is the most valuable language I ever learned, and I use it nearly every single day.

Start with java or C#. C++ isn't a very newb friendly language.

You can always make Flash games with Actionscript . It's fun and relatively easy to make games and you learn the basics of programming.

We are making a game using C# and XNA.

 

And C# is like 95% the same as Java, which, like BW said, is more noob friendly than C/C++.
