The only times I've had issues with battery life is when I forgot to leave them to charge. It has excellent battery life too, a 2 hour recharge will give you about 10 hours of juice, and they give you plenty of wire in case you need to play while you're charging. Otherwise, I cannot recommend enough the Plantronics Gamecom 780. It's a budget (virtual) surround sound headset, but it beats several that are well over $100. It's also the highest rated surround sound headset on Amazon IIRC. I had one and I loved it, but I had a serious problem with a driver conflict, which only a couple dozen seemed to have. That appears to have been patched though. Edited March 13, 2013 by SexualHarassmentPanda Link to comment

On top of that, dont buy headphones made by "gaming" companies. You are buying a pair of headphones and a microphone... buy them from a company that makes headphones and microphones. (AKG, Sennheiser, Beyerdynamics, ect.) Also I would have to say that unless you really want the headset, standalone headphones and mic are just far better. Both will tend to be higher quality when separate and cost you way less. But again, which ever way you go. PLEASE buy from a company that actually makes headphones. Its just silly to compare Logitech or Razer to something like Sennheiser or AKG. Basically what you need is a well build pair of high precision headphones with a large sound-stage. Link to comment

(Happened with Firefox too) When you use a USB headset you are bypasing your PC's soundcard and using a completely different device. If you speakers are connected to your soundcard and you have a headset with its own soundcard you are having to switch between to different audio devices. Link to comment
