They are simply unparalleled in that price range. The Sennheisers are probably better for gaming though. Grado Labs | SR80i Link to comment

I currently own the older version of ASUS Vulcan, they were good while they lasted, but I need something new(Had 3 replacements in 2years - 1 of those was my fault). The current pair is starting to go (microphone issue....again) After reading this thread I have narrowed it down to: Amazon.com: SteelSeries Siberia V2 Full-Size Gaming Headset with Built-In USB Sound Card (Frost Blue): Computers & Accessories Amazon.com: Logitech G35 7.1-Channel Surround Sound Headset: Electronics Amazon.com: Logitech Wireless Gaming Headset G930 with 7.1 Surround Sound: Electronics I am gonna read review and such for each one and report back if I narrow it down.. And here I was about to borrow the thread and ask about ROG Vulcan :/ So it's no good? Poor build quality? I own the G35 and I must say that I am pleased with the mic and sound (7.1) but the build quality is really bad. Mine has broken 2 times without even doing anything wrong. They just break after some time and I'm not the only one. The G35 has a reputation of breaking easily. Link to comment

Poor build quality? Like I said, I got the older version so I don't know what changed in the build quality. But it seems if you unplug and replugin the mic alot (like I do) it seems to mess up the connection. I also hate the cable. It is LONG and gets caught under my chair and stuff. Another problem with the cord is after the first few days of use, they will instantly start to get twisted up/tangled together in an obnoxious way. And after you untangle it and stuff it will only last an hour or so until it is tangled again. I got them for Xmas, but I really don't think they are worth spending 150 on. The ANC sucks. I never use it. The Sound quality is good. But the mic could be better. They are also sorta on the heavy side, but they do provide EXCELLENT comfort. ASUS RMA Process is... Well..Easy/Pain. Let me tell you what occured: Called ASUS, got a menu to choose from to get to the right department, yet they had NOTHING related to headsets and such. So i had to go to something random. Finally get to speak to some guy who can't speak english.. I tell him my problem.. He has NO IDEA they make the headset.... So after many annoying minutes of providing information on it he sets up RMA... I pay for shipping to the RMA center. Then in about 4 weeks I got a brand new, straight in the box headset. 2nd RMA: Called ASUS...Spoke to someone who DID speak english. Set up RMA, was sending it back same day. Fast, simple, easy. Got this one back in about 1 week, But I got a box with the peanut styrofoam chips or w/e they called with the basics(Headphones, mic, cord.) So I have mixed reviews about the RMA process. Comfort is a big plus, but if they are heavy, has bad connection in the mic and a cord that doesn't want to be straight I might as well just stay with my G35 then as long as it's functional. Unless you have a bad soundcard (and I mean BAD) stay away from USB headphones. They tend to fail faster, deliver inferior sound (I have used 3 and they all sound bad) and using 2 sound cards (headphones and speakers) complicates things far too much. Plus if you have a high end sound card you are completely wasting it. Link to comment
