I recommend you change the default grub load time. It drove me insane at the default 30 seconds (I believe it was that), lowered mine down to 5 lol. I tend to turn on my computer and run off to do other stuff and like to come back to it nicely booted.

Lol. That's what I did. Is there any difference between a HDD using a 6.0 Gb/s and an SSD using a 6/0 Gb/s?

And is there a difference between a WD black and blue? I have blue.

That was actually the next thing on my to do list. I'm thinking changing it to 2-3 seconds though.

I was using Linux Mint. It was okay but I ran into quite a few issues after doing a sudo update command. Pinguy is really good
