As someone who has never heard of ESEA or know anything about their client, can you explain on what it does and how it detects hacks?

IIRC launches CS:S/CS whatever game you're playing with esea ID and scans realtime and constantly updates detects.

Seems like Valve should research their detection methods and use that along with VAC.

Well most leagues (except like, TWL) have their own anti cheat as a separate client they force people to run while they play their matches. I don't know too in-depth about anti-cheat clients, but I would imagine since VAC, SMAC, KAC, etc, are all things you can run in the hl2.exe client, it's a total different ballpark since the others have it ran separately (I would think, at least).
