WriteX Posted June 18, 2013 Content Count: 535 Joined: 03/29/11 Status: Offline Share Posted June 18, 2013 I'll be buying components for a new computer after this summer. Although I do have something in mind, I kind of need opinions on this. My budget is around $2000. (The prices are high as f*** here in Norway) (Won't be buying from newegg. Only using it for reference.) I was planning on getting a AMD FX-8350 CPU because, well, AMD is cheaper than Intel and I've heard a lot of positive feedback regarding this CPU... But then again comes the problem with AMD being quantity, not quality. (Although I haven't noticed any difference between my 1100T and the i7-2500... So I don't quite get it.) I was thinking of the i7-4770K if I were to end up with a Intel processor, but I might have to get a cheaper motherboard or power supply if that is the case. As for the rest, I was thinking about a 7970 or a GTX 770 GPU, a 850W PSU, 8GB RAM, but I'm not sure. I need a motherboard, preferably cheap, and a fancy, effective and not too expensive case as well. Would anyone mind helping me? :/ I know people easily get irritated when threads like these are posted, so I'm sorry for posting. Also, I will be doing photoshop related work. I heard Intel is better for graphical work and those matters, but I'm not quite sure about this... Link to comment

Guest harro
Hyperthreading isn't really going to make jack shit of a difference unless you do a lot of video editing/work with really really really really really really really high resolution graphics. Link to comment

And it has more memory. Not sure what's Cheap when it comes to motherboards but maybe MSI Z77 MPower, Socket-1155 or ASUS P9X79, Socket-2011. I spent 3000 on a new pc last year and i have the 7970, i can run bf3, arma 2 and many other games on Max without lag. Edited June 19, 2013 by floffypus Link to comment

I'm going to check out the GTX 770 later, though. :o Neither one of those motherboards will fit the i7-4770K (It requires a LGA1150 socket). :S - I was browsing the motherboards category on Komplett and I found a relatively cheap motherboard that looks good considering the specs of it. (ASUS Z87-K, Socket-1150) I need a case. Preferably a big tower... Do you have any ideas? :o The only big tower I am familiar with is the NZXT Phantom. It looks really nice but it is full of plastic. The original fans are very noisy as well. :/ Link to comment

I have the CM Storm Stryker Gaming Big Tower which i think is pretty sexy but it all comes down to your personal taste i pc casing and how deep your wallet is. Link to comment
