Mr.Trololo Posted August 16, 2013 Content Count: 331 Joined: 01/08/13 Status: Offline Share Posted August 16, 2013 (edited) I had the same problem a few months ago, but then I got myself a mod mic (AntLion Audio ? Welcome). Basically, you take the little magnetic clip they supply you with and put it onto your headset (with the same sticky stuff that's on those Command brand wall hooks) and the mic works like it would on a headset. The audio picks up surprisingly clear, but you want to be sure you have everything defined well in the mic settings in windows. They are priced about $32 and are out of stock, but if you can hold off until the 22nd, this is a great decision. If you can't wait that long, i've also heard a lot of good things about a Zalman (Amazon.com : Zalman Zm-Mic1 High Sensitivity Headphone Microphone : Computer Headsets : Electronics). These go for about $10ish and can just clip onto the wire on your headset. A Zalman mic also pics up audio surprisingly well, as well as being much more affordable than a modmic. The biggest complaint I've heard regarding these is that you may sound very quiet if it isn't positioned close enough to your face, which can be a problem depending on where your headset wire is. Here's a video comparing the Modmic and Zalman to each other. Hope I managed to help you out, good luck! LoneWolf Posted August 16, 2013 Content Count: 925 Joined: 03/31/10 Status: Offline Share Posted August 16, 2013 Don't buy a mic under $30. Most likely it will break and you are going to keep spending money on it. I would suggest and $80 headset which I'm using. Logitech G35, great sound, surround sound. Great mic. Link to comment
