Crazy Dane Posted September 11, 2013 Content Count: 706 Joined: 05/08/09 Status: Offline Share Posted September 11, 2013 Hey everyone. I just got a new computer and I want to be able to record my gameplay. So far I've tried DxTory which would only record at a maximum of 23fps and Fraps which takes 2GB for a 12-second video (was able to do 60fps though) I'm looking for alternatives or at least a video compressor that'll make those fraps files shrink down to the size they should be. What can you guys suggest? - J0n3zz Link to comment

And it's not like you have to wait for the file to be saved after recording.. it's all done right there ready for use. Fraps scores highest on most tests every year. It's worth the extra gb's ;) Edited September 11, 2013 by floffypus Link to comment
shoiep Posted September 12, 2013 Content Count: 2941 Joined: 02/11/12 Status: Offline Share Posted September 12, 2013 Just like what everyone else mentioned. I'd personally go with Fraps. I prefer fraps over dxtory due to the simplicity of fraps. I've been using it for a while. I record most of my videos in 60fps using half size recording with the game resolution on 1920x1080 or so. The video quality still looks pretty good. Yeah, the files are huge but usually 20-50GBs go down to 800MBs - 2GBs after rendering in a video editing software. Link to comment
