SGSL 5v5 Tournament Details

Shit ain't easy when you work full time, go to college, and randomly get sent away for a month for a military training exercise. There are two people managing this entire thing, and it's not easy. So if you guys can't live with my and Xeno's time schedule, then don't play the tournament, or get yourself promoted so you can gain access and help with things. We don't have to do these sorts of tournaments.

 

Some of you complain more than females (but some of you are females, so no matter).

This thing is taking forever to get started (not blaming anyone) and I can't commit to this anymore, so I'm out. I need to start working on researching/writing my thesis for my bachelor's degree so it's best to leave the spots to the most active members .

Basically why I didn't sign up given how long the 3v3 took. =p Way too many people haven't made teams, apparently SG members need a deadline and if they still haven't created a team to just randomize the remaining.

Going with this, tbh. Tired of the wait, I have other things to do, and SG needs more than a 5v5 tourny right now. Octa and BananaJoe please send me messages if you are both still interested in helping run this tournament.

 

My plan is to give this over to Octa/BJ to get started, during which I'm going to focus on other things. They will get teams organized, Caution and I will lay out the maps to be played which weeks, and Octa/BJ will handle reminding teams/setting up team schedules as they come in. Caution and I will overall be in charge, handle Lo3's, any issues that arise, and so on, will be handled by us, but organization can be done by Octa/BJ.

 

Caution, I hope you don't have a problem with this, I simply do not have the time, and I know you are very busy as of late as well.

Tbh there is no way it would have been done by now regardless. Even if we started a couple weeks after the thread was posted, we'd be pushing HARD to get it done before New Years just due to holidays and mid terms. Which is why if you guys are busy you can just let us know and we can work proper scheduling for matches to suit people's needs. So this exact same outcome is what would happen during the tournament lol.

 

Unfortunately I got called to a deployment training exercise for a month, so little I can do ATM to help push this forwards. This has proven to me that SG, as a whole, simply cannot commit to a scrim tournament. I'm not gonna point fingers but I do think bits and pieces of this thread that I have read are pretty dumb, to which I am just not going to bother with this tournament anymore, or anymore scrim tournaments in the future.

 

So yeah, I'm just gonna leave it at that.
