If it is changed to round based this issue would completely go away. Link to comment

Round based would give an advantage to those players who are higher skilled than others, having it DM makes it a bit more fair to those who are not as "skilled" at aiming to still get kills and level up. 1 Link to comment

Banana Joe Posted December 22, 2013 Content Count: 3056 Joined: 01/25/10 Status: Offline Share Posted December 22, 2013 Besides round based either takes forever or is over after 3 rounds, depending on if you're limited to a certain amount of levels each round or not. I prefer DM over round based any day, it's just a lot more fun as well IMO. Link to comment
Dirk Posted December 22, 2013 Content Count: 2167 Joined: 07/14/10 Status: Offline Share Posted December 22, 2013 I see what you mean. I can see why you dont want to do that. But if you are afraid that lesser skilled players will not be gettings kills well just the fact that they are behind the leader gives them that opportunity. If you are behind and have an AK while the leaders are on pistols you already are given a chance to clean up. So yes, it is more likely that you will win randomly with a deathmatch but it doesnt mean you wont get any kills in with round based. Isnt there a mode where you respawn if the guy who killed you is killed? I seem to remember that being quite alot of fun too. Annother suggestion. Some servers give you a glock on the nade round to help with getting a kill. Its not much of an issue when there are 3 or less people or when there are a bunch of people in the server but it seems like most matches about half the team gets stuck up on the nade round. Anyway, thanks for putting up the server, I have been loving it Link to comment

Isnt that kind of the point? The player who is better wins. Not the player who happens to shoot randomly into the massive cluster I feel like while deathmatch may be more popular and fill the server up. The other two modes are more likey to keep a steady player base of those who want a competetive environment. Ultimately I feel this is what contributes to the server drying up each year. People flood in for the novelty but get bored of it and move on. P.S. sorry about the double post. Link to comment
