Hey!

My 2 year upgrade is up in August 2014. However, we have 1 upgrade right NOW on our family plan. I currently have the galaxy s3 and its starting to show wear and tear.. crack in screen getting worse and worse(basically shattered near the button today.. hence why I am asking) but it is still useable.

But as far as new phones that are out now.. I haven't really seen 1 that caught my eye...

1)iPhone is a no. Do not suggest an iPhone

2)I know the Galaxy s5 just came out.. but I really don't want another galaxy (might change once I actually try the device in store)

3)I am on Verizon

So what would you recommend me looking at right now, or do you know of something coming out late summer (August or so) and should I wait?

Thanks

Labarr

P.S. I have replaced the screen on my S3 4 times.. so I have giving up on it! (even though they only cost me $4)

I have a iPhone 4, and it is slow as hell now. iPhone is the best looking phones imo, but the price is way to high.

So i am looking at Nexus 5 and Galaxy S5. But i have a feeling the new iPhone 6 will look great, kinda want to wait and see how that turnes out.

Maybe HTC one? But i would wait a couple months and see!

Meh, I have an iPhone 5 and it works just fine but the power button broke so I have to fix it :/ I'd recommend maybe the HTC 1M8 or some shit.

I'm waiting for the iPhone 6 because Apple mastur raec. Hopefully like the S5, it'll be waterproof down to a few feet. But it will have that sexy new Sapphire Crystal display :) (it'll be almost impossible to scratch it and extremely hard to crack) Maybe those solar cells Apple is looking forward into incorporating into their displays for wireless charging?

I've got an iPhone 5. It's by far the most annoying phone I've had. F**k iPhone.

The Sony Xperia Z2 looks very promising. It's got a 20MP 4K camera.

Although, I'm not sure if it's possible to get one seeing as you're on Verizon.

You could go for the Samsung Galaxy S5 if you just want an upgrade and not a completely different phone. 16MP camera and a slightly faster processor than the Z2.

I'd go for the S5 over any version of the HTC One. The S5 is faster than the HTC One M8, which seems to be their strongest component.

But hey, I'm only speaking out of specs. I've never really tried using any of the phones. :p

I an Android/Google fan so I show a lot more bias towards those devices than iPhones. Obviously you stated you didn't want an iPhone so that helps significantly.

I currently own a Galaxy S2 and I love it but the time has finally come where it is extremely outdated and I have an upgrade coming in mid-May. Personally I think I will go with the S5.

I have also heard great things about the M8 and I do not know anyone who has a G2 but I heard those are very nice as well. I previously owned an HTC back in the day and didn't really like it that much. This was a couple years ago and there were great reviews about the One so things may have changed now. Nexus wouldn't be a bad selection if you are into the pure Android experience.

As for August I am not really sure what is expected then. There are several rumors currently about a Galaxy F series that it supposed to be more of a premium build along with the Moto X2 and LG G3. These are all rumored and there are not dates set for release and it's always hard to speculate when the phones are actually going to be released exactly.

It honestly comes down to going to the store and trying out the phones. You can read a 1,000 reviews and experiences about each phone and not really come to a decision. I highly suggest trying out every phone that you can in combination with reading reviews to make sure there are no major deficiencies with the phone itself. This way you can find the phone that works best for you because all of these phones have different experiences from one another. Personally I am a features guy which is why I like the Galaxy series so much but not everyone prefers that.
