How much talking is too much?

I know. I some obsession with popping up with some random topic every now and again. I should post more more, but alas, I only read :blushing: It's a bad habit I guess.

The title says it all. How much talking in a server is too much? When they talk for 5 seconds but with a "gay-ass" voice? Or when they talk for like 5 minutes straight, never ending. What's your limit and what exactly in VoIP for game servers pushes your buttons?

 

Share your thoughts, as I'd love to hear them.

 

For me, I've met a lot of people whose boxers get all bunched and cut of circulation to their balls all because someone (whether it be a regular or admin) talked for 10 seconds straight.

People who talk in games like CS about non-relevant stuff, and go on and on with a conversation with 1 (one) person in a server of 24+ need to learn to stfu because 22-30 other people have to listen to it as well. Those people are usually under 15 and have nothing interesting to talk about anyway --- other than about how big of a noob they can make themselves look like by treating VOIP in CSS like a private telephone line with their idiot friend on the other line.

 

Conversations should be kept to vent, or servers where everyone knows everyone else. Oh and that RL game too. They work in there most of the time. I don't play much of that though cause it's basically an MMO. You need to work at your char, make money, and gain skills. That's cool and everything, but you need to pay money just to eat in it! Seriously, EVERYTHING costs money in that game, it's stupid and a ripoff.

Just don't go on and on about your life problems, or depressing subjects like breakups, deaths, and so on. I can't stand that kind of stuff. Turns me away from the killin'.

People who can't keep off their talk key for five seconds apart. I don't care if it's all in-game stuff, I can't stand it when people are constantly talking. In terms of voice, the only voices I really can't stand are young kids(like, less than 12 lets say) and people that sound like they have melons stuck up their noses.

TBH though, it depends how i feel when i hear ppl using their mics

recently i've been a bit ill, and cos i've had a headdache i can't stand listening to ppl talk online (no offecen to anyone), so i've just gone voice_enable 0 (very annoying that zombiemod doesn't allow player mute). I haven't even been in vent for long as well because of this

Most of the time , when the ESPN 540 stream is working fine , there's no need to hear any of you on the server so I just set CSS to silence all mics. Can't hear two things at once. Sometimes the stream doesn't work , and I re-enable mics , and my ears hurt for basically the same reason that Jaffa said

Why do almost all your topics have to do with age and using the microphone?

 

 

A. They're sometimes good things to talk about; within a community that has mostly made of adult gamers with a minority of teens, I believe it's a good habbit to talk abotu your pet peeves. If not for you, it at least helps me understand the ZM community a little better and it also helps me gain some personal feedback so I don't look like a total annoying, jackass all the time.

 

B. Not ALL my topics are bout age and mics

 

C. I could start political, racial, sexual, and unimportant, stupid topics if you'd prefer. Of course, that's just pointless, so why do it?

 

D. Like in "reason" A, I enjoy a good "brain-using" topic.

 

E. For me, I don't liek posting stuff about youtube videos or whatnot. Just keep that in mind :001_tongue:

 

F. Holy shit, why did I write all these listed reasons. Christ I need to find some more stuff to do in my spare time -_-
