Operating System Mainly For Gaming

I got my computer working and I am looking for a operating system that will play games like Battlefield 4, Counter-Strike: Source, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, DayZ Standalone, Team Fortress 2, etc. I was thinking about a version of Windows 7 but I'm just not sure. I currently have Windows 8.1 and have some pretty bad problems with some games with it that I didn't have before I got Windows 8.1.

 

Also, what OS do you guys have and does it work well with games that are mentioned above?

I'm surprised you have any issues with 8.1

 

It works pretty solid for both my computers.

Windows 7 will have easier time troubleshooting problematic games but in the next 2-3 years you will want to consider windows 8 as that's what most people are geared to develop for. I know windows 8 still has problems running some games in the sense that there are minor quirks like texture problems but aside from that the fps difference is so small you can't really argue one or the other

I have 8.1 and never have any issues. I actually don't mind 8.1 at all. But 7 wasnt bad either.

Glad this thread was made, as I am about to have to chose one for my new computer also. My friends say windows 7, but I have 8.1 on my laptop and have never had any issues. Probably going to go with 8.1

Windows 7 is bulletproof regarding games, might want to do some googling to see if it's common problems with windows 8.1 or if it's something else, as others mentioned.

Don't get 8, unless you have a PC with touchscreen, or a tablet or some shit like that.

If you want to game, just stick to 7
