Labarr Posted October 8, 2014 Content Count: 3052 Joined: 08/30/09 Status: Offline Share Posted October 8, 2014 (edited) In the market for a new Headset I am really considering wireless because the cords I have A)always tangle up by themselves B)Cat chews on cords around house, luckly he hasnt done it to my computer cables (Yet) C)Every older headset I have had broke from a connection issue within the cord (going back to point A) So yea, If you have a wireless headset I really want your feedback on what your using. I just like the coviencence of the headset compared to a headphone/mic combo, so please dont suggest just headphones. It cannot be bluetooth, as I don't have bluetooth capabilities on my laptop - 2.4GHz will work (my internet is on the 5GHz band) My budget is flexible Thanks Start bringing in the recommendations with pros/cons please Edited October 8, 2014 by Labarr Link to comment
Pan32 Posted October 8, 2014 Content Count: 1747 Joined: 03/17/12 Status: Offline Share Posted October 8, 2014 What kind of use you're gonna give to the headset (predominately)? What is your sound card (or the channels value of the one embedded on your motherboard)? Also bear in mind even tho wireless headsets are pretty good nowadays, you won't get the same quality as some cord headsets that go around the same price. To be entirely honest, I never really searched for any wireless headsets for the reasons above, so I can't really help, however, those questions should help finding the perfect headset for your needs! Dirk Posted October 8, 2014 Content Count: 2167 Joined: 07/14/10 Status: Offline Share Posted October 8, 2014 (edited) The reason they broke is because almost anything marketed as a "gaming headset" sold by a game peripheral company is junk. I suggest you start looking a professional audio companies. If you don't need the mic there are loads of options. If you do, there are still many options but to get anything of quality you will need to spend a fair amount more money. Ideally get something intended for broadcast use but those can get pricey fast. Honestly, if you can avoid the wireless I would. http://north-america.beyerdynamic.com/shop/hah/headphones-and-headsets.html P.S. if you decide you can live with a standing mic (or clip on mic) then pls say so and we can have that conversation. SexualHarassmentPanda Posted October 8, 2014 Content Count: 1676 Joined: 06/27/10 Status: Offline Share Posted October 8, 2014 I recommend the Logitech G930s. Pros: Competent virtual surround and sound quality Decent mic quality Lightweight Battery life almost as long as advertised (about 8-9 hours) 40mm drivers that compete pretty well with 50mm driver gaming headsets I've tried Cons: Pretty plastic-y design Known to have driver issues Might not be comfortable for everyone I've had the G930's for about two years with no issues. They did end up breaking, but it was my fault, and they ended up being far sturdier than I could have guessed. They are a bit pricey, and honestly the only reason I originally picked them up is because they were like $70 on Black Friday, but there usually is some sort of deal on them on Amazon. After they broke I went with the G35s because they were cheaper and essentially the same thing except they are wired instead. What Dirk said is 100% true, but I'm guessing you aren't looking for a $200-300+ headset, and what I suggested will work fine given the drivers don't conflict with anything. Link to comment

I defiantly understand what I am getting for my money, But a headset will just be alot more convenient. Plus headset sounds are perfectly fine for me. Plus headphones/Headset cords will both tangle up by themselves eventually, and there is no way of really fixing it (I knew you were going to post something like this ) I recommend the Logitech G930s. Banana Joe Posted October 8, 2014 Content Count: 3056 Joined: 01/25/10 Status: Offline Share Posted October 8, 2014 I've had my Siberia v2 frost blue edition for a good year now +/- and the cords haven't tangled once on it ._. Idk if I'm super-human though. Hope you find something good that's wireless, as always I'd recommend trying to go to a store and see if you can try some different stuff out, idk if you've done that already though. Link to comment

BoM Posted October 9, 2014 Content Count: 3150 Joined: 02/28/10 Status: Offline Share Posted October 9, 2014 I've heard great things about the Siberia V2, and they're making a V3 soon as well. Almost everyone I've ever talked to loves them, jen has one and i like it better than my razer one, go figure. It fits snugly to your head, has good noise cancellation, long split wires so you can plug the sound into something else without going to the back of your computer (or front). Wireless can be unreliable, but most people I've seen with them don't seem to have much for problems. Personal preference IMO. Wires will get tangled eventually, something will go screwy with wireless eventually, pick your poison. As for dirk's option, big waste of money unless you need professional sound quality or you plan on doing a lot of recording. Dirk is just one of those people that likes the top of the line, I spend all my money on this shit, products. But his computer still sucks! I will save you a lot of money by letting you in on this one thing: Buy your fucking computer extras at best buy, cough up $10-$20 more for the GeekSquad coverage, and only ever pay that much for it again. The only problem with buying a "gaming" headset is they are bound to break cause of cheap parts. This allows you to avoid this for the most part. Link to comment
