I'm fluent in Portuguese, taking 4th year Italian this semester and speak some Spanish and am working on it as well. Although I agree that the U.S. needs to give better options and increase foreign language training... in some ways they have been. My kids are in a dual immersion school here that teaches 1/2 the day in Mandarin and 1/2 the day in English. 1 Link to comment
