That is some bored shit. I heard that you can have a dog? Yeah, driving sucks balls dammit. You can't drive fast or stop your car before you hit another car. It sucks... =( I loved GTA1 as a child lol, it was a cool game. Edited July 2, 2008 by Super Nublet Stop spamming the forum, USE EDIT BUTTON Link to comment
yojimbo Posted July 1, 2008 Content Count: 98 Joined: 06/29/08 Status: Offline Share Posted July 1, 2008 I havent played it yet, but i can tell you that there was only one reason why i didnt like gta3 or san andreas. if you bump into a cop car in real life, they will definately be pissed and probably arrest you. but in the game, they SHOot you lol. crazy man but in the gta4 i heard that you have a choice to give in or run? hmm :0 interesting Link to comment

Rat Posted July 1, 2008 Content Count: 138 Joined: 03/21/08 Status: Offline Share Posted July 1, 2008 I like how if you die you keep your weapons, so the hospital just sends you out again with rocket launchers, assault rifles et all. I don't think the drivings that bad really, once you get used to it, the changes actually make it much easier to control. Link to comment

It seems like they added a lot of subtle things in place of things that were fundamental. First off, and this is a weird one because I generally don't care about stories in games, but a good chunk of the game felt completely pointless. It's like watching one of those movies like Napoleon Dynamite where the beginning and ending have some plot but the middle, the big middle, feels like it isn't going anywhere. Second, the gunplay has been revamped and it is a lot better, superb even. Problem? There aren't enough large shootouts in the game. The game doesn't even have a theater mode where you can go back and do any mission all over again. Saint's Row did it, why doesn't GTA4 do it? The law enforcement system is interesting, but not as good as it could have been. Again, most of the missions don't give you much of a vehicular challenge against the cops when they're there. They're slow and give up easy, but they are a lot more annoying in the way that they block you at slow speeds. I don't remember seeing one spike strip through my playthrough from start to finish, I don't even know if they're in the game. No army, but the choppers are just annoying. On a high wanted level you can destroy 50 of them and they'd still keep coming, giving you less than 2 minutes of breather between each one. You can form relationships with key characters in the game, which eventually give you perks like discounts and that kind of junk, but none of these perks are really needed... at all. And they keep pestering you on the phone! Driving is something you get used to, and it's not bad at all. My only complaint is that I've more than once hit a sidewalk dead on with a motorcycle and my guy flies 30 feet and smashes into the ground. That gets old the first time it happens. Cars occasionally suffer from this as well, not like the motorcycle thing but they'll sometimes act like the end of a sidewalk is a wall and one of your front wheels end up sliding on it instead of rolling over it. Most cars brake like they have buttered tires. Again, there's a lot worse you can buy, but as long as you don't go into it thinking it's the best game in the world or go into it believing the game is as good as websites like Gamespot say it is, then you shouldn't be disappointed. Run doesn't give you more stars, but if you attack the cop that tries to arrest you, it will be two stars Edited July 2, 2008 by Super Nublet Stop spamming the forum, LEARN TO USE EDIT Link to comment
Lux Posted July 1, 2008 Content Count: 6712 Joined: 03/06/08 Status: Offline Share Posted July 1, 2008 No...I think they only arrest you on low stars, and if you choose to run away, they will shoot you down to about half health because of the position you are in, and you DO gain a star. The thing is, NEVER give yourself in. Being arrested means losing all your weapons and you still pay the price, whilst dieing you keep your weapons. Link to comment
