Can we have a sub-forum for international discussions: cool videos, non-english discussions, talk about culture and travel for anyone interested in cool stuff from other countries. I know that we have off-topic but it still does not feel like the right place to make these threads without someone just trolling or derailing the thread

This was brought up a couple CA meetings ago and nobody seemed to be "all for it", really wasn't much support at the meeting for it, or in this thread. One alternative that was suggested was a "travel" section, but we felt it wouldn't get much activity, so there isn't really a need for it. In the end, OTF was found suitable for the things you wanted to discuss.

EDIT: my bad for not posting a reason for rejected, post must not have went through when I stamped it.

As I feared, I should have made a poll. Well... as long as the CA+ moderate these threads and the use of other languages is allowed then I guess we can try it out in OTF for now.

You could always try making a thread for different countries/languages and keep chat up within those? Example, making an "Estonia Chat" or something similar that people would actually post in might work.

I was going to do some discussions in the OTF but I figured it would just turn into a mess and feel out of place. Just going to stick to other websites for this and maybe try suggesting it again in a year.
