Half Life One

How many of you were around when hl1 came out...

 

I was just playin around in the game the other day and realized how old i Felt because back in the day,

HL1 was the shit,

and while i was playing it now,

It felt eerie because, you wonder that there is probably not that many people playin it at that moment, but back then, it was the new best thing to happen to videogames. Kinda makes me sad to think that itll drift out of the void of video games, but at least I wont forget it.

Yeah, I played the demo when it came out, got the Platinum Pack sometime later. Excelent games along with Blue-Shift and Opposing Force. :thumbup:

I've never been on HL1 or HL2, I've only played CS:S as well not any of the older cs's.

Was more of a console gamer till I got my laptop.

I played through HL, BlueShift, Opposing Force all at hardest levels.

 

Sadly I haven't hardly touched HL2 even although I bought it right when it came out.. I almost never play single player games anymore.

 

HL does rank in my top 10 single player games of all time though.. definitely a great story and a worth while play.

 

Valve did release HL Source to try to get newer players to play through the story line.. for anyone that hasn't played it and has the time it's well worth it.

Ha yeah I just sold my x-box, would rather just stay pc.

but it was the half life game engine that really led the way for steam and counterstrike and team fortress, ect

 

team fortress classic was an awesome game that ran off the hl1 engine, and if im not mistaken,

the engine is very similar to quake's engine, only heavily modified and tweaked.

Played it on my Compaq when it first came out. Took a while to get used to, but then I realized how awesome the game was.

 

Anyone here played Opposing Force or Blue-Shift?

Love that game, been following the progress on Black Mesa source and I hope they can pump out how Half-Life 1 source should've been.
