No distance orders and forcing Ts off of mic

Can we possibly add "CTs can not give distance orders such as stay 10 feet away" to the rules plugin? It seems to be a growing issue of "you can give distance orders" "no you can't" lately. While not said flat out, it is strongly implied/assumed in the guide

 

There is a freeday going on and a T is following you around. You warn him to stay at least 10 feet away or else you'll kill him. While in pursuit, he gets too close for comfort and you dome him. Congratulations, you've just freekilled.

 

Just today on the server I had to go through the trouble of putting that quote in the chat while players were debating over it since its not in the rules plugin.

 

Moving on to the forcing Ts off of mic, can we get a clear stance on that and also add it to rules or faq? Its another problem I'll see where the CTs get tired of Ts on mic and will try to force them off mic for an unreasonable amount of time. For example a CT said "all ts off mic" about a minute into the round, then about 1:30-2 mins later he shot a T for being on mic saying "I said all ts off mic." A few other times I've seen CTs trying to keep Ts off mic for no reason. When I asked Onion on steam chat he said that we have 30 second mute at the start of round for a reason. I understand saying all Ts off mic when trying to give an order later in the round and they are mic spamming, and that will get people muted and/or kicked, but there's no reason for a CT to force all Ts off mic unless they are trying to give a new order.

It's already in the rules that CTs can tell Ts to get off mic, but not the whole round. A CT can order Ts off mic, even if only one person is doing that, no rules about that. The distance rule is stupid and DOES NOT EXIST, so if anyone says that's a rule just say it's not like 5 times and hopefully they'll understand.

 

 

 

Question, why don't you make a player complaint if someone freekills, or breaks the rules?

i though there is always 2-3 admin on, so i just took a break because of TI5 D:

Not the point of the thread. If I need to get an admin I can try to find one (not new to the community ) but that doesn't solve the problem of confusion on the rules. It's much easier to have a player type !rules and see it say "No distance orders" or "No forcing Ts off mic for an unreasonable amount of time" and solve the problem than it is to argue with them, get an admin on, then have the admin argue with them over whether or not its a rule.

That's directly from the guide. How is that not saying no distance orders?

 

 

Also again, I am fully away how to get admins on and about player complaints, but that doesn't stop confusion about the rules, which is the reason for the thread.

It was always in the rules to give realistic/clear orders.

 

Any Cts can give distance orders, but if they ask for like 200m then that's just stupid and slayable.

 

But then again it's bloody hard to tell wtf 10ft is ingame. I usually just say no knifing distance.

I'm 1000000000000% that distance orders are NOT allowed, you can't just say stay this many feet away from me while running or standing still. You can give orders like "No pool, hallways and left side", but distance orders are not allowed and have not been allowed since ever.

The thing is i never seen that on the rules. Also i've never seen someone ever uses a distance order other than no knifing distance.

 

I'm pretty sure CA+ are on this. Can't wait for the revamp rules.

Correct. If a prisoner is close to you, an 'all t's freeze' order is all it takes to create more separation for you and your teammates. Distance orders, as Toyz said, are not realistic.

It's not on the rules but I remember people like @Nuclear Onion, @Caution and others who have worked on the server with the rules saying it. I mean even @Unnamed Newbie said it with the quote @Goku posted.
