Elemental Posted August 11, 2015 Content Count: 3287 Joined: 01/06/14 Status: Offline Share Posted August 11, 2015 I keep hearing people saying that "Distance orders are not allowed, so me and my T buddy are going to corner you and just chill there now, kay?" ^ Bullshit scenario. You're a fucking prison guard, why wouldnt you be able to tell the Prisoners to stay the fuck away from you or get some buckshot in their legs lol. Personally, I use distance orders, usually stay knifing distance away from CTs or you get warning shot, and only on freedays really. Whatever the result of this thread tho, shd prolly be added to !rules Link to comment
Vy Posted August 11, 2015 Content Count: 1385 Joined: 05/22/11 Status: Offline Share Posted August 11, 2015 (edited) Because if it's a freeday and you're running around it's not very easy to keep away from a CT. If you're standing still and people start creeping towards you when you told them to stay back, then you should warning shot them, but it should only be viable for people that you tell directly or a group. So some random guy that's running around and accidentally goes near you wouldn't get shot in the face. @Elemental Edited August 11, 2015 by Vy Link to comment

When they are obviously tryin to trap or knife you Link to comment

When they are obviously tryin to trap or knife you I'm guessing this would most likely be in a freeday where this would happen. Why can't you just restrict the area you're in, or just say for that specific person to freeze so you can get away? Link to comment
Elemental Posted August 11, 2015 Content Count: 3287 Joined: 01/06/14 Status: Offline Share Posted August 11, 2015 Because there are plenty of situations where some retard calls a freeday and you cant get to the restricted area. Or when you give a freeday and dont feel like camping all round. I dont get why its such a problem to tell Ts to stay knifing distance away from you, this is a prison, the CTs are guards, the Ts are prisoners. I mean. Come on. Link to comment

Because the judgement of a 'knife distance' doesn't seem easy to really calculate when you are a T is what I assume? All you need is a T to scream "wtf i was a knife and a half distance away from you" when you can't actually prove that otherwise. You might aswell give orders that'll be more concrete like 'afk freeze' or restrict another area, that way you won't any distance arguements. 1 Link to comment
Tweezy Posted August 12, 2015 Content Count: 3791 Joined: 08/08/09 Status: Offline Share Posted August 12, 2015 The only people I've really found who seem to give distance orders are people who aren't too good at the game. A couple of T's start running at him, or staying rather close by and he yells "Stay 10 feet away" "No, don't get close to me" *Initiate spray and pray* - T's killed - "I told you not to get close to me" all because this guy was on the verge of baiting because of how close he got in the original place. Distance orders have always been a no, since the early days - if people could get them oh damn it would be hard to freekill with anyone shouting "Oh, he was in my KOS zone which I stated at the start of the round in chat". But also as stated in the rules, CT's need to give clear and concise rules - a distance rule breaks this. 2 Link to comment
