Surf Facility, Helms Deep, and Exchange Innovation removal

I really like surf facility and i dont give shit if it has bugs because it's only for a matter of time and helms deep,it does suck rushing through a hoard of zombies and going back down near the big ass ladders while surfing is fun except for those people who dont know how to surf and want to remove it or rtv

If whoever added the molotov seriously thinks it is fair to have surf facility on the rotation with it, they need to consider removing 1 or the other for it. Aside from the point that the molotov is extremely op if used correctly, as it stops you from being able to physically jump whilst in it, the hold at the end is impossible for zombies with them.

 

The map in itself is terrible. There are 4 hold points. The 2nd one was impossible for zombies, now the 4th is too (not to mention these hold points were already incredibly easy for humans). This leaves the 1st hold point which is 50/50 depending on how good the initial zombie surfer is, and the 3rd hold point which usually guarantees 4 humans will survive, and likely a bunch of others. The surfing is ridiculously easy and holds no benefit to being better or worse at it other than looking cool.

 

This map seriously needs removed. Just because you like surfing does not justify that this map should be kept. Seriously cmon guys.

 

Basically this, although molotov should be re-balanced or removed at some point.

 

We could always go over the maps and see which map should have the molotov enabled and which shouldn't. Basically the same idea as we have with mother zombies being teleported back to spawn, configuring the settings manually. Although, restricting the molotov would help a little, I still think the ending point on surf_facility is pretty easy to hold due to the fact that zombies need to crouch first in order to get in the vents, apart from one side where you can eventually stand up but the path is so narrow that zombies can't move left or right making it easy for humans to defend and most of the time pointless for zombies to even try. @Pan32

 

I personally wouldn't mind seeing the map being removed or have someone revamp the map completely, making the holding points a bit more balanced for both sides. I do however agree on the molotov part, that if we do decide to keep this map, the molotov should be disabled at least. I'm not completely against the map, nor am I in favor of it, so I'm kind of in between but I do think things need to change if we are going to keep it in the rotation to make it more enjoyable for both sides.

Sorta beating a dead horse here and reviving a half dead thread, but thinking a map should stay because it is "good" and "fun" aren't really reasons to keep it. The map design is horrible and defending the map with the argument that it is only requested to be removed/rtv'd because it requires the basic knowledge of how to surf isn't defending the map. This argument is the most bullshit part of the defense of the map, and people don't understand that just because the map requires the player to surf for 10 seconds doesn't make it impervious to criticism. The map doesn't retain anything about zombie escape until the final hold point which is horribly CT sided as it can be, and the surf skill ceiling is non-existent. There is no reason this map should really even be in the map vote unless it is entirely revamped to the point where the CTs actually have to do something, and that is unlikely.

 

The map has no place on the server. That is just it.

 

And as for Helms Deep, the map is rarely played anymore so I've put my mind off of it. The thread is basically about the removal of Surf now until there is a sudden increase in activity in Helms Deep.

having all 3 maps on this post might've made the vote somewhat innacurate, im moving the voting to remove surf_facility to a new post, please vote again HERE

 

Will leave this post open for a day or two so people see the redirect to the new one and then moving it into rejected.
