I mean the server is still manageable when it full. I don't think it's about being manageable, it's about keeping the fundamentals. Link to comment

Even if the server is full, you can always put the "join if there's an empty slot" option and you get in after like 5 minutes tops. I also feel like 15 player PB is pretty boring. It's a lot more fun when there's 20+ players Link to comment
Neptune Posted October 6, 2015 Content Count: 1513 Joined: 10/03/11 Status: Offline Share Posted October 6, 2015 @Neptune When was the last time we had two? Last I can remember was in 08 CS:S with Uprising and Mutiny. We tried this in 2012 I believe and it just spread out the population for the first week we had it and then it stayed empty until it got removed. What is to be lost of giving it a try again? Isn't that how we do things? Trial and error and we learn from what we see. We tried it before and it didn't work well aka we shouldn't do it now most of all because the summer is over and less kids are playing anyway. AKA waste of time and maybe a waste of money if you have to pay for another server (unless its a dedi, not sure). Link to comment

I've seen it hold 22-24 for 4 hours at a time, which can be a pain to wait on, sitting in "auto-join" WITH sub perks for 30 mins..(my experience) but it's more about it being fun with less people in an alternative server. Wawa Posted October 6, 2015 Content Count: 3740 Joined: 05/21/12 Status: Offline Share Posted October 6, 2015 I think this is an idea that we could consider in the future, but not right at this moment. The community is looking to actively expand with more servers as we continue to grow, so I wouldn't rule out the Uprising idea, but at the same time it's not at the top of the list of servers we want to try out. Regardless, it's still an idea worth discussing. As far as 'Mutiny being complete chaos when it's full' goes, I think admins should be more open to asking their peers to come help them control the server when it's full. There shouldn't be any shame in asking other admins to come help because it can definitely be overwhelming for 1 admin to control a full PB server. It's better to do that than to regress by lowering the slots on Mutiny in my opinion. 3 Link to comment

You are correct; The fundamentals of high/full-pop PB is not as fun as it could be with a low pop. On Low pop, We actually do things, it's not 100% Go here and stay for 1 min, than go there for 2 min. We get to actually play games, CT's do non-death games for the fun of it, and of course we still rebel but its a lot funner and a bit more competitive. I think this is an idea that we could consider in the future, but not right at this moment. I can agree; I only bring this up for discussion for the moment as I know we got a lot coming in the next little while. I don't think it has been an issue of not having enough admins. As I said above, Low-pop does allow a new angle of PB which those who play mostly during high-pop don't see. By no means am I saying we need to lower slots just to get rid of the overwhelming chaos. We tried this in 2012 I believe and it just spread out the population for the first week we had it and then it stayed empty until it got removed. We tried it before and it didn't work well aka we shouldn't do it now most of all because the summer is over and less kids are playing anyway. AKA waste of time and maybe a waste of money if you have to pay for another server (unless its a dedi, not sure). I cannot remember if uprising was a clone of mutiny or if it had a different map rotation. Pretty sure the only reason we had it was to fill once the other one was full, it did last for a good while tho. I feel like with the PB server, it rarely holds 24 players for an extended amount of time to the point where we need a 2nd server for the people that can't get into the server. It's a lot more fun when there's 20+ players Any time it's full pop, it does last a couple hours and this is mostly every night. I'd say its 50/50- I do enjoy full pop PB but I also enjoy low-pop PB since there is a lot to do. Link to comment

Goku Posted October 6, 2015 Content Count: 2589 Joined: 02/05/12 Status: Offline Share Posted October 6, 2015 As Neptune pointed out we did try this in 2012 and it just didn't work. But, to be fair, iirc it only had "old school" maps which probably didn't help much. Way it stands now, the server isn't full 24/7 as is. I understand yalls points of it being different with 12 people compared to 24 but I don't think splitting the player base at this moment is a good idea. The second server was a good idea back in 2012 when mutiny was full almost 24/7. Also as pointed out the school year just started up. Maybe around Christmas break when we see a population increase we could try then and see how it goes. 1 Link to comment
