Zaraki Posted October 25, 2015 Content Count: 4960 Joined: 10/28/09 Status: Offline Share Posted October 25, 2015 One thing that bothers me.. If you have a CT-admin on, he can read whatever you are planning to do to him. Do we really have to take it to Steam-chat to plan a decent coördinated attack? I understand admins need to see everything to act accordingly, but this takes away the whole purpose of teamchat. When we type "Rush at 2:00" in teamchat, guess who is waiting and ready? This also gives an unfair advantage towards the other people on the Ct-team. Can there be a solution for this? Link to comment
bethy Posted October 25, 2015 Content Count: 6213 Joined: 09/20/08 Status: Offline Share Posted October 25, 2015 Does this really happen that often? I get that it kinda sucks for those without mics or for when you want to type "rush @ 2:00" but it doesn't seem like it effects things that much to me. I'm up to hearing others opinions though. Motox Posted October 25, 2015 Content Count: 1639 Joined: 09/22/13 Status: Offline Share Posted October 25, 2015 (edited) Personally, in my experience with JB, it doesn't get in the way too often. If the Ts are faced with the situation in which an admin is on CT, and know that they can read tc, they just don't use it. And that's fine, there's plenty of opportunities to rebel in each map without coordination. Mutiny doesn't always really have to be coordinated, it can spread across the inmates naturally. For example, if one CT goes down near a group of Ts, they'll more than likely be inclined to pick up that weapon, and/or spread out to find more weapons and rebel. Regarding the admin's ability to see team chat: I do find it important that admins have this. As a T, even before they made admins have the ability to see team chat on CS:GO PB, I see nobody using team chat as often as it could be used. Like I said, the mutiny most often takes place naturally. Also, it'd just make it more difficult for the admins to do player management on the server. Making it so that they can see what Ts say in tc is just an easier method to mediate problems or to ensure any rules aren't being broken, if the person(s) in question are using team chat as a means to hide from the admins. I'm sorry if I came off like I was trying to shut you down, I tried to make this the least assertive as possible, but I just can't see a better way to have it set other than the way it already is. Goku Posted October 25, 2015 Content Count: 2589 Joined: 02/05/12 Status: Offline Share Posted October 25, 2015 The pros out weigh the cons. I would rather an admin be able to see if someone was being disrespectful or racist in team chat, and in exchange Ts are unable to rush one CT properly. Which lets be honest, how often does: A) Ts try to do a rush like your example. B) more than one T actually rush C) the rush actually work regardless of an admin on CT team. If we remove admin see all, a player can easily go to team chat to disrespect or be racist. We would then have to rely on someone taking a screenshot and sharing, or a higher up checking the chat logs. Compared to the admin being able to directly handle the situation then and there. 3 Link to comment

However I do agree that the benefit of having it active for admins (regardless on what team they're on) is enough reason to keep it available. Link to comment

I normally don't care about it so I don't try to abuse it but it's a good way to keep an eye on rule breakers. Link to comment

On a serious note, from what I was told this is against the rules, there's only been one scenario when I've seen an admin use it to his advantage, but besides that most of the time when T's do decide to do something like that, it usually turns into a bait fest. I really don't think this happens enough for it to be a big problem. Personally if I see something like that, I just go somewhere else, so I don't use it to my advantage and don't get accused for doing so.
