In an effort to bridge the gap between the 10v10 Casual community and the rest of the Steam-Gamers community, enhancements were made to the server in order to increase its appeal to a broader player base (without alienating the Casual regulars).

That being said, I'm very excited to announce the implementation of the following features, starting immediately:

End-map Map Voting

The map voting on Casual is unique in that you can choose between 4 options from a map pool that is broken down into 3 groups. The first group is called 'Default' and only contains Dust II alone. This group will always show up in the #5 slot of every map vote.

The second group is called 'Classic' and is mostly comprised of active duty maps. This group will always show up in the #6 and #7 slots of a map vote and contains the following maps:

Mirage

Cache

Inferno

Train

Cobblestone

Overpass

Nuke

The third group is called 'Custom' and is comprised of maps that have been used in competitive play at some point in the history of Counter-Strike. This group will always show up in the #8 slot of a map vote and contains the following maps:

Season

Mill (de_cpl_mill remake)

Ignite (de_cpl_fire remake)

Contra

With map voting in place, Nominate and RTV plugins are also active simply by typing 'rtv' or 'nominate' in in-game chat!

If no maps are nominated, a map vote will always display Dust II in the top slot, 2 maps picked at random from the Classic group in the middle slots, and 1 map picked at random from the Custom group in the bottom slot. If a map becomes nominated, the map vote will display that map, but it will still follow the 1 Default/2 Classic/1 Custom rule. So for example, if 3 maps are nominated from the Classic group, the map vote will randomly pick 2 out of 3 of those nominations to display for voting.

End-map voting means that the map vote will display right after a team has won a match. The reason why map voting is only limited to 4 maps to choose from is because it gives players more time and less 'information overload' so to speak to choose a map based more on personal interest and less on the pressure of 'Well there's so many maps to choose from, fuck it I'm just going to choose the first one I see!' Dust II will always display in the top slot because it is the default map for the Casual server and the most popular among the regulars--the server wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for this map!

TeamBets

A minor, but fun plugin feature added (requested by @bethy!) is team betting. How it works is that dead players can place bets on the team they think will win the round by using the in-game cash for buying weapons/armor. Examples of bets include typing 'bet ct all' (but if CTs lose, you lose all of your money!) in in-game chat, 'bet t 500', 'bet ct half' (bets with half of your money), etc. Once a bet is placed, it cannot be changed or taken back, so bet wisely!

New Subscriber-Only Skins!

Subscribers now have access to 2 brand new player skins exclusive only to Casual!

Terrorist:

Pink Panther is too broken for Casual (guns displayed at your feet). Plus, I was going for custom player skins that fit in the best with the Terrorist/CT color scheme and Casual theme. I don't think there will be any more than this because of taking player downloads and download time into consideration.
