I'm looking for a game that is similar to the anime Log Horizon, where the world is affected by the playerbase and their decisions. Example : A village is going to be destroyed by goblins, if you don't protect it, you can't go there and trade anymore etc because the npcs would have died. If anyone has any idea of a game that might be similar to this, please just mention it and i'll look into it. Thank you. Here's the Log Horizon music for y'all. Link to comment

Mabinogi only in terms of actually being with a guild and family. Still open. Luminary: Rise of the GoonZu- Closed in NA but may still be open in EU, its fully based on economy and war. Black Desert or Final fantasy XIV AAR Link to comment

What's stopping the end game players to just slaughter all of the starting NPCs so the beginners can't actually progress? The closest thing to this is : Blade and soul ( You can kill opposing faction NPCs which stops that faction from receiving quests until they spawn). Great game for PVP. PVP is really similar to fighting games if you're interested in that. PVE is alright I guess. Really enjoy this game and how fast leveling is. Game is sorta going towards P2W which is dumb, but I don't really care that much about the cash items they added. New expansion/big update is coming out on the 10th. FFXIV(There's random 'fates' in the game which are pretty much side quests that happen around the map that can pull some town NPCs to fight with you) However, super fucking frustrating game to play imo. I thought leveling was boring as fuck (could be different for you) and unlocking dungeons and whatnot was super tedious. Really flashy spell effects (especially if you play superior class black mage). Also your 1 character in this game can be every single class in the game. Class system can be sorta confusing but interesting at the same time. Requires a sub however. GW2(In a way similar to fates in FFXIV. A whole town can be locked off from teleporting to for a couple minutes because it's being attacked by a giant or something) Sidenote: The entire leveling in this game can be done off PVP if you're interested in that. Endgame for this game was really dumb imo. Really focused on crafting and dungeons. Don't think they had raids until recent expansion/update. Great PVP system tho. Archeage?( don't know shit about this game. Didn't get far into it since it's so P2W, but you can buy houses and what not) Link to comment

Maybe I should have said a game that is related to the idea of sao/log horizon. Either way, thanks for all the options so far. Gonna check em out. Link to comment

But i'd highly suggest doing Blade&Soul since it's very addictive, has a couple of hidden quests (when you decide to save a random npc it can give you a quest, or when you defeat a certain monster you can save an npc from its insides and get a reward) also pvp is amazing, especially the arena which can get highly competitive.
