[Rejected] Admin Attendance on the Zombie Escape Server

Thanks for bringing this up. this has been an issue for a long time now, I think we simply need more server admins, we should encourage more people to apply for and get admin. Heck, you are giving a good impression by trying to fix a problem. Obviously you haven't been around our forums and systematics for long. But how would you feel going for admin in like a month?

ZE used to be one of the server i visit regularly. The main reason that stopped me for going ZE most of the time are the lag issue. Every time i get in ZE, after a period of times, i will be lagging like hell and had to rejoin every time.

 

This is pretty much the issue for me as well. The lag makes ZE fairly unplayable for me, zombies jolt and shots miss. Meaning that there's nothing for me to do on the server apart from listen to players which gets boring, and then just unpleasant fairly quickly.

 

I think we simply need more server admins

 

We have lost pretty much all of our ZE playing admins over the last few years and with most new ones coming from the other servers, this probably isn't a bad idea to get some of the more active ZE players to apply.

@StampY it literally physically hurts me to say this, but feel free to add me and I can hop on sometime when necessary. I'm usually on during all times during the day as I work a combination of day and evening shifts. I've played ZE a handful of times, but can offer whatever assistance I can.

Honestly, I used to spend most of my time on zombie escape. But after I spent some time exploding around other servers like MG and TTT, I just started playing on those servers more. There are usually more regulars and admins on those servers so we tend to play on those servers when no players report any problem from ZE. I've noticed some problems on ZE like micspam and racism, but since it's not that of a big deal comparing to other violations and players can solve the problems themselves(!sm to mute players), I did not pay that much attention to ZE. Another problem is that we tend to take ZE way to serious, probably because we want to beat some maps. No disrespect but some players on ZE are playing this more like casual than like a mission or something like that. When we keep failing on a map or on a specific stage we may lose faith to the team and leave, thus losing control to the server. Anyway since you have mentioned the problem, we will put more attention to zombie escape. Thank you for the advice! @StampY

If someone is mic spamming you are able to mute them with the !sm (their name) command if that helps for that kind of thing.

I'll be extremely honest and say that after a day at my job, I prefer not to sit in a server THAT chaotic.

Last time alone I had to kick 4-5 people for spamming duck sounds and rejoining when I muted them ;_;

I used to enjoy ZE, but now that I have a job I can't stand the ear-cancer that is ZE after I come home xd

The only exception being when Mako reactor is on xd

ZE being my favourite S-G server, I guess that there ain't as many admins as on other ones (but hey, we can't really blame them, they are players and may have their favourites servers !). But it remains that you can contact them pretty much easily with TS, shoutbox or steam !

So feel free to add every nice admin who linked his steam and warn them if it starts being chaos. They usually answer pretty quickly & efficiently ;)

I try to play as much as I can - but playing the same maps gets very boring especially when it feels like Ice Cap 24/7

 

I suggest having more events (planned out ahead of time) to keep things interesting.

 

Also, since admins are usually not on most of the day trolls will get kicked and only go on during those times. Player complaints are important for this reason. Add me on Steam (Agent Wesker) if you want to call me when needed.

Or make a bot with !call command on the server, people can report a player and whoever is online( admins have to have the bot on friends list) receives a message from the bot with the reporter name, offender's name, reason why he/she reported. !call admin_handle 1 will notify the bot to send a message that xxx has taken care of the situation. This can lead to abuse of the report system tho. Anyways on this other server if someone keeps false reporting they will get punished.
