roux Posted April 3, 2016 Content Count: 2579 Joined: 02/27/16 Status: Offline Share Posted April 3, 2016 I played Jailbreak gamemode a shit ton on various servers and games (GMOD/GO) and I've come to a conclusion Your server can be improved The Jailbreak server is a little bit broken and lacks a little rules to make it more enjoyable. First up, orders are completely incomprehensible. The server needs a warden system or something that looks like it. Even if it might have few advantages to run the server without any, imo, with is better. Orders are usually clear and understood by the majority of players. Some Gmod servers feature a Warden voting system, which let guards vote for the next warden. It's voted everyround so if a Warden goes nazi, it can be replaced. Next, it also needs clearer server rules, especially concerning warning shots. CT's need to read these carefully, I rarely see a whole guard squad to handle prisonners correcly using warnings. You guys also need a max ct number. The best Guard/Prisonner ratio is approx. 1:4. When the server is full, there should be a maximum of 6 guards able to play at once. Gmod also features a cool guard queue, whenever a guard leaves, it automatically switches the first one in the queue to the CT side. I would also recommend to add more maps. I was disappointed on the numbers of good old CS:S or Gmod maps in the map pool. There isn't many jb_ maps on the workshops, but it is possible to get gmod maps ported to GO. I know this is a shit ton of suggestions and it is a lot of work to do, but the more I put in here, the more you'll maybe accept. Thank you very much for reading! Give feedback! Link to comment
derp derpidy derp derp Posted April 4, 2016 Content Count: 203 Joined: 05/08/12 Status: Offline Share Posted April 4, 2016 your suggestion of ratio being 1:4 i disagree. I have been on the server for a long time and the 1:2 ratio seems to work the best with the number of people allowed on the server because sometimes there are bad cts and in other posts there have been suggestions for a max ct system which has been denied with a few good reasons. Some of these suggestions are good like voting for a main guard. Thanks for your suggestions! Link to comment

It's voted everyround so if a Warden goes nazi, it can be replaced. We have always worked without a Warden or Warden system and it's worked for us back on CSS and it's working for us now on CS:GO. I have lost count how many times some new player joins our JB server, plays for a few hours and comes to the forums to suggest that we put in a Warden system. It's never happened and it never will because this way works for us. Next, it also needs clearer server rules, especially concerning warning shots. CT's need to read these carefully, I rarely see a whole guard squad to handle prisonners correcly using warnings. The rules are quite expansive and clearly written. You can access them in-game with !rules and !faq (which is also automatically announced at intervals) Just like the previous suggestion I can't even begin to count the amount of times we've had major, in-depth, discussions about the JB rules both in public sections of the forum and the admin sections and trust me, the rules are quite clear. If you are, however, unclear about any of the rules, don't hesitate asking an admin or on the forums. As for CT's not following the rules properly, this is why we have admins to keep them in check. Personally I switch CT's that are obviously ignorant of the rules to T and warn them to read the rules or they might end up getting banned. You guys also need a max ct number. Gmod also features a cool guard queue, whenever a guard leaves, it automatically switches the first one in the queue to the CT side. We have always found the "best" ratio to be 1:2 on our server and just like with the absence of a Warden system, we will never have any kind of automatic guard queue, vote, or anything like it because we have used this way since CSS and, again, it worked for us then and it works for us now. We like giving players freedom on the server, instead of restricting every part of gameplay by little automatic plugins. If the ratio is terrible, admins will take care of it by switching people. I would also recommend to add more maps. I was disappointed on the numbers of good old CS:S or Gmod maps in the map pool. There isn't many jb_ maps on the workshops, but it is possible to get gmod maps ported to GO. We have quite an extensive map pool right now imo and of course there's always maps being added and removed due to player & admin votes on the forums, which you can find here. We also have some people from SG that actively port maps for us. But if you have any suggestions for good maps, please don't refrain from posting a Map Request in the section I just linked 7 Edited April 6, 2016 by Elemental Link to comment

It's voted everyround so if a Warden goes nazi, it can be replaced. We aim to become unique so people can enjoy something that they miss from any other servers. Like Elemental have said, we have been working with this non warden system since sources (which is about 8 years now). Next, it also needs clearer server rules, especially concerning warning shots. CT's need to read these carefully, I rarely see a whole guard squad to handle prisonners correcly using warnings. Obvious rules are quite clear in the faq and rules lists already. Some of the situation based rules we decided not to include it since it should have be a common sense. As for the part, CTs' need to read them carefully? I rarely see them actually read the whole rules, FAQ and guide other than myself , some PB admins and some players did. Current generation doesn't even care about reading them. As for some old PB players, they think they know the rules because they play it on other server's rule or don't realize their knowledge of rules was outdated You guys also need a max ct number. Gmod also features a cool guard queue, whenever a guard leaves, it automatically switches the first one in the queue to the CT side. It will never work out, unless you have veteran guard or good guard who keep on watch on the prisoner. I have already tried so many time with 4-6 vs 20-14 simply no one willing to join CT because they always die. I would also recommend to add more maps. I was disappointed on the numbers of good old CS:S or Gmod maps in the map pool. There isn't many jb_ maps on the workshops, but it is possible to get gmod maps ported to GO. If there is someone working on port, yes. We have various of Community Adviser and Admin who tried to find maps if possible and players who suggest maps they wanted. The rest was already mentioned by Elemental, therefor i will end my feedback here Edited April 6, 2016 by BlackWhite Link to comment
