Tried moving my files into the SteamApps folder since they weren't and it didn't really do anything, if you intended for me to get something else out of the link let me know.

 

This has happened to me so many fucking times and honestly it's as easy as restarting your router. I mean, at least that's what done the trick for me

By the sounds of it, you literally just didn't switch it correctly causing the place where you are attempting to open it from to not be a verified location. Well, if you're already doing what Ghost said then fair enough, the other way would be to simply move it correctly (by using the video I sent or the link that Jake sent).

iva had a similar issue, but where something is blovking me from a secure connection to vac. heres the support page i used to fix it

Take an extra look at the steam service point (second from top)

 

Also, antivirus can block sertain things happening on steam (mcafee and norton are worst coming to this)

Cheat Engine was interfering!

Ok so I've been having this same problem. The file that vac isn't ok with in my computer is called gamerulestxt.cvar (brought up at community meeting but apparently it had nothing to do with map downloads from SG) which I thought it was. Anyways log into your game and scroll to the top of the console and see which file is screwing with vac (should be in red text) search your csgo files for this file then delete it. For me I can't find it but launch csgo within the steam app disables the file and let's me play for some reason. Whenever I launch the game from my desktop it runs the game and allows the file to run (don't know what it does lol ) and then the vac message comes up. I'm thinking of just deleting everything within the game and reinstalling it and seeing what happens but then I'd have to create a new autoexec config file which I don't feel like doing cus im lazy. TLDR either find the file vac dosent like or start the game within the steam app which should be located in your desktop screen. For me that's ez pz but whatever.
