roux Posted April 30, 2016 Content Count: 2579 Joined: 02/27/16 Status: Offline Share Posted April 30, 2016 (edited) After getting killed for some nasty reasons, I noticed one reason always came back. When, for example, the server is full, 8Guards to 16 prisonners, commands are hard to understand. When freedays are given, or any order given via microphone chat, it is followed by the majority. The only problem is other guards typing orders in the chat. When their orders aren't respected, they kill prisonners very quickly, and their order is often buried in the chat under SG and Radio announcements. Orders should ONLY be valid on the mic chat, when available ofc. When 2 CTs give orders, the microphone one should just override the typed one. It's a minor change, but could stop a lot of kills and "ADMIN HE'S FREESHOOTIN ME". Any opinions? Edited June 11, 2016 by XeNo Link to comment

If we make players could only use mic to order, the same thing will just happened. Link to comment
Jake Posted April 30, 2016 Content Count: 2001 Joined: 08/04/09 Status: Offline Share Posted April 30, 2016 I Think this falls under team work, the CTs need to work together to make sure they all give the same orders, even if they don't the Ts still need to follow the last rule given unless told to otherwise. You guys are both right, but that won't happen soon^^ Since there isn't any warden system, every CT is free to order random ALL Ts FREEZE, that can be confused to a T order or random shit. I don't see how my point would be applicable, but I still think it's a good idea. Link to comment
Dominic Posted April 30, 2016 Content Count: 5678 Joined: 01/07/16 Status: Offline Share Posted April 30, 2016 No way, there are some great CTs who dont have mics. What I got from this is that if you dont have a mic you cant give orders. Take LiableStone, he's a good CT and he wouldnt be able to give valid orders? Sorry, but no. EDIT: I saw that the mic one should override the chat one? At that point it's conflicting orders. I dont think that's fair. 1 Link to comment
Jake Posted April 30, 2016 Content Count: 2001 Joined: 08/04/09 Status: Offline Share Posted April 30, 2016 I actually am leaning towards a !warden plugin. Honestly it would make things so much easier and commands can be given through chat or voice. You type !warden and get put into a queue and wait till it's your turn for a round. Link to comment

Last time I suggested this on the forums, I was called a " new to SG, get used to our system of gtfo" literally. But I still think a warden plugin like Gmod's would be a great addition to JB. Great wardens can be kept and bad ones, taken away. No way, there are some great CTs who dont have mics. What I got from this is that if you dont have a mic you cant give orders. Tbh, what I said is exactly to remove conflicting orders by overriding typed orders, to remove confusion when 2 are said at the same time. Link to comment

If the CT continues to conflict orders, then you could either record a demo, or ask an admin to get on. Its a huge benefit to have a mic on CT but its not necessary. Link to comment

No no, it's very conflicting and very unfair towards those who dont have mics. Link to comment
Goku Posted April 30, 2016 Content Count: 2589 Joined: 02/05/12 Status: Offline Share Posted April 30, 2016 In regards to mic orders overriding chat orders: Not going to happen, and shouldn't happen. You're just going to end up having an idiot CT overriding a legitimate CT that doesn't have a mic. Just having a mic doesn't make you any more capable of being a good CT. It does make it easier, but it is more than possible to be a good CT without it. In regards to warden: No. Our current system works, and has worked for a number of years higher than @Dominic can count. It all boils down to, as Jake said in his first post, CTs just need to work together. Majority of the time, you have one or two CTs that end up being a faux-warden anyway (See: Bubblez or myself). If I join CT, I'll be damned if I'm going to have to listen to some kid that doesn't understand our rules, give crap orders. You also now run into this issue of when the warden dies, and now you have all these people on T side screaming "warden dead, freeday!" It already happens now without wardens. I do not agree with restraining who can give orders as a CT. Link to comment
