Slaughter Posted June 3, 2016 Content Count: 171 Joined: 01/13/16 Status: Offline Share Posted June 3, 2016 Hey everyone. I've been MIA from the whole community for a little over a month now due to school coming to an end. I switched my focus from my computer to my schoolwork, and now that my school year is coming to an end I hope to increase my activity to how it used to be. Anyways, this thread is sort of ironic because like I said, I've been focusing on schoolwork instead of video games. My high school just opened a competitive gaming eSports program for games such as Dota 2, League of Legends, Overwatch, CS:GO, and many more. Basically, I understood from the email that I received that the program offers a chance for students to create/join competitive teams and compete in local tournaments and statewide championships for popular cooperative games. I've never heard of anything like this before and I was wondering if your school has anything similar. I think it's a pretty neat idea and I would love to hear feedback. 1 Link to comment

Mr White Posted June 3, 2016 Content Count: 130 Joined: 07/25/15 Status: Offline Share Posted June 3, 2016 My school is about as technologically advanced as the 1950s, my state governor could care less about school funding. So that's a no. If it were to ever have one than I would defiantly join it. 1 Link to comment

The ESRB ratings are not legally binding. They serve as guidelines. There's nothing illegal about someone underage playing a M rated game. The only reason a 16 year old couldn't buy a M rated game, is due to the vast majority of stores enforcing the ESRB ratings as store policies. Edit: Also, I assume the schools have the parents sign a waiver acknowledging that their child is playing these games. He's not 12, most of those games are 16 under and I believe he's over 16, or atleast 16. Believe overwatch is rated T, CSGO is rated M. Not sure about the others, but I assume they are also T. But regardless the ratings aren't legally binding. 1 Edited June 3, 2016 by Goku Link to comment

You are lucky to have a school that seems to be with the times as most schools suck with any kind of advancement with technology. Can I come to the LAN finals? I'll bring snacks 1 Link to comment
Kippe Posted June 3, 2016 Content Count: 1109 Joined: 04/30/12 Status: Offline Share Posted June 3, 2016 I was in my high schools eSports club. We mainly had a bunch of League and CS:GO tournaments. Never came close to winning but it was always fun as hell. Smash and osu were pretty popular as well. Link to comment
