Hey everyone. I've been MIA from the whole community for a little over a month now due to school coming to an end. I switched my focus from my computer to my schoolwork, and now that my school year is coming to an end I hope to increase my activity to how it used to be. Anyways, this thread is sort of ironic because like I said, I've been focusing on schoolwork instead of video games. My high school just opened a competitive gaming eSports program for games such as Dota 2, League of Legends, Overwatch, CS:GO, and many more. Basically, I understood from the email that I received that the program offers a chance for students to create/join competitive teams and compete in local tournaments and statewide championships for popular cooperative games. I've never heard of anything like this before and I was wondering if your school has anything similar. I think it's a pretty neat idea and I would love to hear feedback.

Wouldn't that be like illegal by encouraging underage kids to play M rated games?

The ESRB ratings are not legally binding. They serve as guidelines. There's nothing illegal about someone underage playing a M rated game. The only reason a 16 year old couldn't buy a M rated game, is due to the vast majority of stores enforcing the ESRB ratings as store policies.

Edit: Also, I assume the schools have the parents sign a waiver acknowledging that their child is playing these games.

He's not 12, most of those games are 16 under and I believe he's over 16, or atleast 16.

Believe overwatch is rated T, CSGO is rated M. Not sure about the others, but I assume they are also T. But regardless the ratings aren't legally binding.

At least you don't need to drag around a CRT monitor everywhere you want to play.
