So recently (2nd of June) was released a special edition of Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six® Siege, which entitled players to the full game at a massive discount. In the UK, the price of the base game is £29.99, and the discounted price (or "starter edition") costs £11.99. A big discount, I must say.

Here is the actual link to their FAQ on this new edition.

Here is the steam page for the game, which includes the "starter edition" with it.

TL;DR - Until the 19th of June, this game will be at a huge discount for PC PLAYERS ONLY. There is one downside to this edition, however, is that the Operators (I think they're the classes? I don't know) come with a heavily increased price to unlock. In the base game they're 500-2000 in-game credits to purchase, however with this edition they become 12,500 in-game credits.

To me, it's worth it. They say it takes 15 hours to unlock a single operator with this edition.

Should you expect this game to go any cheaper? I'm not sure it will go below 50% off in the Steam Summer Sale, however it might go to 75% but to me that's highly unlikely. I think this is the cheapest this game will go, but I'm not sure if it's worth the increase in price of operators as I personally don't have any experience with this game.

its definitely NOT worth it. You WILL have a shitty time with that limited of an access to operators. Sorry for being a debbie downer, but that's fucking insane. You are just going to end up buying the microtransactions and reversing the money you saved. I have a lot of experience in this game and there is a LARGE hacker problem. You are going to buy the game, have no operators, get stuck against hackers, and have a really shitty time with nothing to combat them. Trust me, you don't want to buy it like this.

Strange, getting mixed opinions. @Strawberry told me that the operators weren't a "big deal" so idk who to believe :p

i dont see where you hit large amounts of hackers? cuz i barely meet people hacking. there are more people hacking in csgo. you can unlock 4 operators pretty early on, wich tecnically is enough. you basically need 1 attacker and 1 defender if you play with friends. so having NO operators is false. you also get 600 R6 credits, wich is enough to instantly unlock 2.

Besides, recruits are awesome cuz they get every weapon in the game so it is no disadvantage.

Teamplay is the key. all recruits doing teamwork is still better that operators.

You get the full game, all unlocked maps, everything normal player has. except operators cost 10k more renown to unlock. (i get between 1000 and 3000 renown a match with booster) taking me no time to unlock these operators.

Lets say you purchased rook, or castle as defending side. you just pick those before anyone else does no big deal.

i dont see how 15$ is not worth it when i would have still bought it for 70$

Just my 2 cents
