Also, I agree with SOLANUM. If someone listens to a band in guitar hero, and they like the band now and want to get into them, isn't that a GOOD thing? I mean, they get to listen to new, better music, and they get to enjoy guitar Hero. It seems win-win to me.

 

I don't even remember what I was listening to before Guitar Hero(the original) came out. I made it a point to go out and grab every Greatest Hits CD from each reputable artist on the game after playing it for awhile. It wasn't a complete turn around or nothing, I know I was listening to stuff like Sonata Arctica and DragonForce at the time before GH.

 

It's funny actually, I remember debating with myself over getting Megadeth's Greatest Hits CD because Symphony of Destruction was a pretty boring song, so I wasn't sure if I should pick up any of their material. I took a chance and my mind was blown, almost every single song on that album was awesome, and now Megadeth are my favorite group by a large margin.
