Mic problems

So, my mic (HyperX 7.1), works on TeamSpeak but not on Steam chat/CS:GO/Overwatch chat. I'm currently running Windows 10.

 

I've already tried:

-Verifying the integrity of my game cache: [ATTACH=CONFIG]15001[/ATTACH]

-Updating my drivers

-Detecting the audio devices in game on Steam (Help and Options > Audio Settings > MIC SETUP)

 

I might try using a different port for my mic but I don't know because I feel like I'm missing something very simple and there's no point to doing that. If you've ever had this problem you can tell me what you used to fix it or just give me recommendations on what to do.

 

People used to not even be able to see my name at the bottom like I'm trying to talk, but I got somewhere today by verifying my game cache because now according to @bop he sees my name at the bottom and I give off a weird sound.

If it works on Teamspeak it's most likely something to do with the games themselves or some recent change in settings.

 

Google "Microphone doesn't work in Steam games" or "Microphone doesn't work in cs:go" and see if there's anything worthwhile there first.

 

If it doesn't work add me on skype/steam and I can try fixing it for you via screenshare or something.

 

I think something similar happened to me as well, but I can't remember how I fixed it.

Thing is, it isn't only Steam games/CS:GO (as I said in OP) which makes it really weird. I'm going to try this though and see what I get, thanks.

Check your ingame settings, check your windows settings, check reddit, google, steam forums from 2012, etc. I've had this problem before with some mics, and it always ended up working with me restarting my pc while swearing.

This could be a far fetched thing, but on the windows sound settings, on recording devices, did you set the hyperx sound card as the predefined sound recording device?

I'm using hyperx cloud II with no sound problems in CS:GO or ts3. Try lowering the record format from 48k Hz to 44.1k Hz.
