Every time I look into building a PC this is what I stumble upon and I have no clue what the differences are... not even after googling. An SSD is basically just really really fast compared to a HDD. A decent SSD will usually have a write speed of around 200-500 MB/s where as a HDD will usually write around 70-150 MB/s. If you're on a HDD and it takes, let's say, a minute to boot up your computer. On an SSD, it would probably only take like 15-20 seconds. 1 Link to comment
