It's not "Mac OS", it's OS X, which runs on most Apple products. (even iOS is somewhat based on it)

 

Windows is also optimized in an entirely different way. Apple doesn't make gaming software or hardware. Hilariously, the best Windows laptop in 2013 was a MacBook Pro 13".

it is actually called macOS Sierra now lol and I don't have anything against apple hardware I own a MacBook Pro 13 2012 pre retina running boot camp as I need macOS for school work and use windows for gaming at friends' houses.

You can still get macOS Sierra on an 09 MBP http://dosdude1.com/sierrapatch.html did it for a friend worked just fine for thier computer

I know I can. I'm going to hold onto Mavericks as long as possible. The old UI looks so much better than the new flat one.

I would agree but I have to have macOS Sieara as my school has it running on all the computers. Nothing sucks more then finishing a project and the teacher being unable to open it.

I feel that. App State will be quite the unknown for me. I hope I won't have to upgrade when I go there.

PC. If you took the same amount of money that you would spend on new Macbook or iMac, and instead put the same amount towards a badass gaming rig, there would be no competition. Mac's are for people who have more money than tech know-how.
