Care to explain why your IPs match exactly, Funky?

Me and my brother both play on SG. That is his account. When we were both in the teamspeak a few weeks ago, I was also questioned me and him for having the same IP as well. I've also been accidentally banned from the servers automatically because he and I share the same IP so if he gets banned, I get banned. Hope that answers your question...

Edit : Do you care to explain why you're cross checking the IPS of giveaway winners?Or why you're publicly announcing it (which will make it look like I'm rigging giveaways), instead of sorting it out in pm?

I cross check IPs of members on the forums when I feel it's odd or suspicious how they're acting. I publicly announced it because I think it's relevant to those here that your IP matches one of your winners.

If you're related, alright, fine. If you're related, why are you talking to each other like you don't know each other? Why wouldn't you address each other in person? Next, if you want to give your brother some game keys, I think you would understand that it's better if you just did so on your own outside of SG. By allowing him to enter a SG giveaway and then allowing him to win in it, you can see how it may be construed as unfair to those who entered your giveaway. That's like me doing a giveaway and making the grand prize $150 and then posting the results as "Grand Prize: My mom lol got her some nice stuff off amazon" and expecting it to be a fair result to those who entered.

He has every right to enter the giveaway, seeing as he's an active participant within the SG servers, so I see no issue with him winning either. In addition, he did not solely win the giveaway, there were 2 other winners, so I don't know why you're acting like he's the biggest winner. Thirdly, how is him winning in anyway "unfair", he did everything that was required to enter and I know entering your name into the google docs form was really tough, but he did that too. I understand where you're coming from, so I understand you questioning the legitimacy of the giveaway, but theres different ways you could have and should have approached/confronted me about it. I did not force anyone into joining the giveaway, if you don't like how I run it, or the rules, don't enter... pretty simple.

Edit : In addition, we didn't want people to know we were related. This is the Internet, I shouldn't have to reveal our relationship. We (or at least I) wanted to be viewed as just two friends who enjoyed gaming (which we pretty much are).

I think these are the only notable parts of your post worth repeating for the general public to pay attention to.

You claim to understand, but you do not. In this community that I help run, I possess the power and ability to sometimes call into question the legitimacy of whats occurring in this community. I use this as need-be to assist in alerting the general public whenever I see something I feel that is worth bringing to light which would otherwise go unnoticed or unknown. You're welcome to do your giveaway how you see fit, but the public deserves to know when your own brother is winning in a giveaway in which that you possess sole ability to pick the winners from. If in the future this causes people to see you or interact with you differently, that's not my doing, it's your own. This isn't something that needs to be handled in private when it should be public knowledge, which is all I assisted in doing here.

@FunkyFingers first off, thank you for the giveaway and the games.

But to add to @XeNo (not that he needs it), it does seem a little iffy that your brother wins when you look at all the facts leading up to it. Yes, he met your requirements, but by spamming the forums which he both admitted to, and you called him out on. Also, and now as I type it I realize that it probably wouldn't have helped the situation too much, there wasn't anything shown as to how you picked your winners. While not everyone does that, you have to see how it can come off as fishy that your brother won.

I'm not trying to claim you cheated or anything like that. I'm just hoping that you understand how it can be made to look like that.

@Funky if you are going to get this kind of crap for giving away a good chunk of money then just do it anymore the community should be thankful for you doing this instead of whining that you're brother won second prize. If you wanted to give game keys to you're brother you could of just done it in private and there would of been no sense in giving away more to random people. Anybody that cant see that and thinks you cheated the give away just is mad that they didnt win.

First, I'd like to say Thanks to Funky for the giveaway, any and all are appreciated.

But I understand where @XeNo is coming from, as someone who's done their fair share of giveaways and seen a lot more. I've witnessed a situation similar to this (Not SG) before whereas the giveaway was rigged to allow alternate accounts to win and the prizes were practically recycled in future giveaways.

I and i'd like to believe many others appreciate how open and public the SteamGamers BD's and other higher ups are with most things, instead of keeping everything private. This is a community and i've always seen it as a great thing that's kept me around and coming back.

If It indeed was an alternate account instead of his brother and it wasn't called out on, would any of us be any wiser?

With the info presented, it does seem suspicious how they were acting since they were brothers, and if his brother was interested in the game keys enough to enter the giveaway, why not simply just give it to him instead? With the few posts, without knowing that the IP it would seem like they were complete strangers to each other, but in reality they are brothers. I can see why Xeno was suspicious.

Can't disagree

I also understand Xeno's point of view, why did he have to make a forum account, spam 10 posts only to enter and win. Does seems fishy. I don't know Funky, it's up to the community to judge^^

I don't think you understood the point of what's happening at all.
