How gifs work

OK so I want to use a GIF but when i uploaded the gif it was a stationary picture. if someone could wxplain how to get it to work that would be great thanks

if you want to use a gif as your avatar it has to be a specific size

 

i think 140x140 or 125x125

if you want gif for an avatar, the gif can't be larger than 150x250 pixels

As stated, the image dimensions AND file size play a role iirc. When you go to upload your avatar it tells you below what the requirements are. Iirc you also have to be a subscriber for animated gifs but not entirely sure if that's still true.

OK so the size is 56.67 KB and 120x120 but it still wont work and i am as sub so i don't know

yes its a gif file but if i upload it will i see the gif moving

In the signature box in your setting do this

[.img]testgif.gif[./img]

 

Obviously replace testgif.gif with a URL of the gif you want to use. And remove the 2x periods
